I emailed you but you never emailed me back!
I'm looking for a redhead scholarship.
What is involved in signing up for membership?
If you are a redhead and you are curious about what is involved in signing up, maybe this will help.
The only requirements there are to signing up is that you are a redhead and have two photos
to prove it. There is a small, one-time membership fee of $5 to become a member. It is NOT a monthly fee; $5
grants you lifetime membership.
After submitting payment, you will be redirected to the membership application, which asks you
such things as your desired membername, email address, icq number if you have one, marital status,
location, how you would describe yourself and your interests/hobbies. You also include two pictures of
yourself in your profile. The form is automatically emailed to me. Due to the large volume of
applications, it may take up to 2 weeks to get you added.
No one is ever declined membership unless they provide me with a non-functioning email address where
I cannot contact them, they do not send photos that comply with our acceptable photo policy, or if I find their application hostile or distasteful. Although I hate to do it,
I reserve the right to decline membership to anyone who I decide is not going to be an asset to this site,
and by that I mean anyone who seems to be signing up for the sole purpose to get a date,
those I suspect may have sent pictures that are not their own, anyone who seems overly hostile,
or those who choose distasteful member names like "Fire Crotch" and the like.
This is not a dating service, and if you make your profile sound like an ad, I might reject it.
All in all it is a fun community of redheads, so even if you have no interest in befriending others, there are
several ways for you to get involved with the site.
How Safe is it to post all this information on the net?
Use common sense here. If you use your full name, first and last, as your member name, it would be relatively easy for someone to locate you or find your phone number if it is listed, be it a psycho or someone with friendly intentions. Even easier if you post which city or town that you live in. Just because I have done both and am unworried about that fact does not mean it is not a valid concern. I am concerned for all of the members, most noticeably the younger ones. I refuse to post their full name or city if they are under 18. However, grown women are free to do what they choose, and I am not responsible for anyone that may contact you, via the web or in real life.
There are just as many, if not more, fruitcakes on the net as there are in any back alley in the world. My advice to anyone concerned is this -
- use only your first name, chat name, or nickname as your desired member name.
- leave the 'city' blank. Post only the state which you live in, or if outside the U.S., just the country.
- post only your occupation and not the company that you work for.
- do not make any specific references to places you hang out at (i.e. The Bottleneck in downtown Lawrence), and do NOT list which college or high school you may be attending.
What if I don't want a picture in my profile?
Two photos are required. This is a site for redheads and the
profiles should reflect that. If you are too concerned about your safety to post a photo of your face,
this site isn't for you.
What if I don't have a scanned picture?
Simple. Snail mail them to me and I will scan them for you for free, so long as you provide a stamped, self-addressed stamped envelope for me to return them in. I will put up to three photos in your profile, email you the photos so you can save copies on your own hard drive, and drop the originals back in the mail. Mail your photos to:
Candi M. Best
P.O. Box 3483
Lawrence, Kansas 66046-3483
What if I don't want my email address in my profile?
It is not a requirement that you list your email address in your profile. It is a requirement, however,
that I have your email address. There are a couple of options for you to choose from when deciding
what you do and do not want shown. You can choose to have no contact information listed at all,
so that no one can contact you from the site but me. You can specify that you only want other members
to have your contact info - which means that your info is password protected.
Whichever you prefer.
How do I edit my profile?
You can edit your profile by accessing the
Members Area . It is a password protected
feature, so you will need that to be let into the editing section. You can request your username and password using
the reminder feature.
I forgot my password!
Before you email me, use the Password Manager. Enter your email address,
and it will send you your account information. If you no longer have access to that email address, contact us with your full name, your old email address, and your new email address. Another form of verification may be required.
My password is not working!
Usernames and passwords are case sensitive, no spaces, and no special characters other than an underscore. 100% of the cases of people emailing me that their password isn't working is
because they are not entering it correctly; there is no other reason. I know that sometimes people think they are entering it correctly and it can be very frustrating, but request your password again and triple-check, if need be, to make sure
you have it right.
Many people try so many times that the pop up box asking for your username and password no longer appears, and they are immediately redirected to the forbidden page. If this has happened to you, try these things in order:
1.) Completely quit the browser (do not simply close it and reopen it, QUIT the browser) and try again.
2.) Empty the cache in your browser (look in Edit (or File) > Preferences > Cache in most browsers).
3.) If you have another browser installed on your computer, try accessing the Members Area with that browser instead.
Also remember that the bulletin board, for example, is not tied in with the Members Area. You would have been given an auto-generated password when registering for the board that will not match your regular one. The board
has its own "lost password" feature if you have forgotten it.
If you have tried everything and it is still not working, email me with your username and password
and I will test and reset them both, if need be.
I can't find my profile!
With as many members as we have, it is no wonder. There are several ways that you can try to locate your profile - by looking through the alphabetical list; by looking at your location (i.e. Texas).
I used to be a member, but I'm not listed anymore. What happened?
First of all, you may not have been deleted. Email me if you're not sure, I keep outstanding records of all members, past and present.
Although participation is no longer required, in the past I often deleted members who were absent from the Realm
for longer than a year and did not keep their contact information current.
Members who were removed due to inactivity or who specifically asked to be removed for whatever reason are not
allowed to sign back up, I'm sorry.
Please remove my profile from the site.
Members can cancel their account at any time, with the understanding that all cancellation requests must be submitted via the Members Area in order to verify that it is you choosing to
cancel your account and not a malicious visitor. Requests submitted via the regular contact form will
not be processed.
Note that it may take up to 30 days to remove your profile. If you have special circumstances and would like to expedite the removal process, you
can pay a $5
rush fee to be removed within 72 hours.
We do not offer any refunds of the $5 membership fee after your account is activated. However, if you are declined membership into the Realm of
Redheads, you will be notified and the fee will be refunded.
Why isn't there a way for admirers to get involved or talk to redheads?
Redheads did not sign up here to find a date, and their listing is not an "ad", it is a profile created for them to
befriend other members and celebrate their uniqueness. This is simply a community for redheads.
If you're lookin' for love, check out our sister site, Planet Redhead-- a dating
site created for redheads and those who love them.
I would like to get in touch with one of your members.
I'm unable to help you, sorry.
See if they are signed up at Planet Redhead, and if so, you can
email them all you would like.
I emailed you but you never emailed me back!
If you emailed me and never received a response, or were expecting an automated response from anywhere on the Realm but never received it,
please check your bulk mail/deleted items folders, especially if you have a Yahoo, Hotmail or AOL account. They are all are notorious for filtering legitimate messages
directly into the trash. Yahoo is the biggest offender for "bulking" legitimate email. AOL allows newbies access to settings that do not accept email from anyone who is not already in their
address book. Not good. Try emailing me with a different account so you
will receive my emails, because I do not ignore any email (provided it wasn't rude or abusive).
I'm not a redhead, but I love redheads. Can I sign up?
No. But you can sign up at Planet Redhead.
I'm looking for a redhead scholarship.
Redhead scholarships are a myth as far as I know. I have never seen any credible information pertaining to anything like that. Sorry.
If I haven't covered what you need, feel free to email me with your questions.
