egan is my 12 year old puppy... a handsome golden retriever of a lovely red coat that almost matches my hair. (so handsome i just had to paint his portrait!) we complement each other very well. the funny line on his nose is supposedly called a hunter's crest (it is just fur that grows the wrong way.. very distinctive), whatever the case it is what made him special to his first human. he was originally bred to be a guide dog for the blind, so he lived one year with a puppy walker, then went to guide dog school for a year until they decided he wasn't going to pass, so we got him! he's stubborn and sensitive, an extremely challenging combination. he's afraid of dogs he doesn't know but he doesn't want them to know that, so he barks and growls and probably believes in the motto "kill or be killed." on the other hand he's extremely tolerant of any abuse he gets from my mother's beagle or any other dog friends he makes. he figures it's his role in life to be chewed, sat upon, pulled, etc. he never complains about any discomfort, except hunger! he is reserved.. shy you could say, not pushy but craves attention, looks at you until you whisper sweet nothings in his ear then gets up and walks away! he used to love his squeaky toys too, but now he knows if he trys to play the beagle will just take them away, so he rarely touches them. despite his flaws, he is 99% angel and i love him very dearly.. despite his age he will always be my puppy. - fiestagrl
