If you could choose any place in the world to live, where would it be?
The place would be Brittany, France. I love the
seaside and the memories I have of this region. The
smell of the sea, the wind, the skies and the granite
rocks won my heart ever since I was a small child.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a film director! I used to spend hours
playing with my brother, inventing stories and
literally directing him to perform the scenes.
Your occupation now?
This one is tricky... I used to work in the
Environmental business, first as a Sales
Representative and later as a Recycling Coordinator.
Today, I'm trying to move away from that and make my
way into Healthcare, to ultimately become a Radiologic
Technologist. We'll see in three years if I succeeded!
What are some of your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy playing old computer games, doing a bit of
work in the garden and watching Cops. I'm a real fan,
I can't help it! Also, I'm self-teaching Arabic, and
believe me, this is a real challenge.
What would you say are your character strengths?
I care for people. I pay attention to them and I try
and make them feel special, even if it's for the most
casual thing. No one deserves to be ignored or
scorned. I also have very good listening skills and
the ability to understand the needs of most people,
through empathy and sympathy. Also, I discovered over
the years that I have to ability to endure a lot, so I
would complete this portrait by adding that I am
resilient.
Weaknesses?
My perpetual doubts and questions about my existence
sometimes trigger a lowdown in my self-esteem. I also
suffer from lack of persistence in my projects... These
are my main hindrances. If I didn't have these
problems, I would be so much better off!
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would kick my weaknesses out for good!
Do you have any quirks you think are strange or amusing?
I don't like open doors, even cabinet ones. They make
me uneasy! Strangely enough, I'm fine with open
windows...
Who is/was the most influential person/role model in your life?
My maternal grandfather. He was a strong character,
who went through terrible historical events (the two
world wars). He was sometimes rough, but overall, he
was a kind, intelligent and giving person with the
biggest heart.
What are your achievements/accomplishments that you are the most proud of?
I'm proud and happy to be in a successful, lasting
relationship with my wife. She is the cornerstone of
my life.
Are you currently single, involved, or married?
I'm married to Carolinaderm, another member of the
Realm of Redheads! It was actually thanks to this
website that we met and fell in love. Our twins are on
the way - they should land on this planet by late
November or early December.
What qualities do you find the most attractive in other people?
I value courage, dedication, and most of all, care.I value courage, dedication, and most of all, care.
What is one thing you would change about the world?
I would raise the individual intelligence and
knowledge levels of everyone. Hopefully, that would
bring positive results and a better outcome for the
whole planet. I'm often amazed at how stupid and
ignorant people can be. The worst is that they care
not to change!
What is your favorite food?
Seafood! Yum, yum! Japanese cuisine too! And chocolate
cakes of course!
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would you choose?
I think I said Jesus in the last interview, so I'll
stick to my guns and choose him again. I'd like to see
how the man really was in everyday life.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you do with the money?
I would make sure our debts are covered of course.
Then I would buy a cozy house and a load of insurances
for me, my wife and children. I would also put money
aside to allow them to attend college or university. I
would also get the home cinema system of my dreams.
Then, I would have my wife complete her BA after the
children start school. I would also quit working to
become a full-time novelist, or I would go to college
to start something completely different. Finally, I
would give some of the money to our two families,
because everyone needs money.
Do you consider yourself a spiritual person?
I used to be Catholic, but my faith has shifted over
the years to become more of an agnostic belief. In
other words, I believe in "a God", but it's a very
personal one. Buddhism is an interesting philosophy
too. I guess I'm like many other people these days,
interested in other cultures, although I'm not
following any trends here.
Is there any particular historical era that you feel drawn to?
I feel drawn to the here and the now! Maybe this is
because our children are to be born soon. There is so
much going on in my life right now!
What are your favorite books and authors?
My favorite book of all times is "Quatre-Vingt Treize"
from a French author called Victor Hugo.
What are your favorite movies?
Currently, the Lord of the Rings and the Star Wars
(the old one) Trilogies.
What is your most prized possession?
I don't own any pricy family heirlooms and our
furniture and equipment is basic and comfortable. I
don't currently own the place we're living in...
Therefore, I'd say that my most prized possession is
myself, as a person.
What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is Green.
What are your favorite television shows?
Cops! "What you gonna do when they come for you..."
What are some of your pet peeves?
I absolutely hate messy places. I can't stand a desk
with files scattered around, a greasy bathtub with
hair in it... I don't like unclean people either. It may
sound radical, but the way people put up their place
and take care of themselves tells a lot about who they
really are.
What are some of the issues that you are passionate about?
I care for the Environment. I wish more would be done
to use alternate power sources to create energy,
instead of burning oil and polluting the planet.
Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
No, I don't. No tattoo or piercing can sum up my
personality, my aspirations and my dreams... but I have
my freckles, which I'm very proud of and the fillings
in my teeth, if that qualifies at all!
What is one thing you hope to accomplish before you die?
I wish to look back on my life and say: "I went beyond
myself and I succeeded."
What is something you've always wanted to do/try but haven't yet?
I'm looking forward to new challenges and interests in
the future. For now, I've got my hands full with going
to college, raising two babies, supporting my wife,
and being the bread-winner!
Where do you see yourself ten years (what are your goals)?
Hopefully, I will be a successful Radiologic
Technologist, and a loving husband and father. I would
like to relocate to Colorado, Washington State or
Oregon. Sounds like plain bread to you? Well, if you
could see what I'm currently up against, you would
surely think otherwise!
What is your favorite quote?
It's a French one: "A gagner sans combattre, on
triomphe sans gloire" which means: "Victory without a
fight is like triumph without glory."
