Self-Description: I'm a fit, freckled, five eleven, funny, fool for
fiery-haired females. I've never had a red mate (always
wanted one), but I can match any lady in a friendly freckle
count ( or a temper fit, for that matter, although it's
easy to control now, compared to 20 years ago). I have a
B.S. in Horticulture, and have been a teacher, truck driver,
treasure hunter (helped Mel Fisher find the Atocha in 1985),
tugboat captain, mechanic, marine engineer, and docking
pilot, among other things. I own a used and out-of- print
bookstore, and am opening a Coast Guard license exam prep
school. I have 3 studs in my left ear, and a ring on my toe
(to paraphrase Buffett: a pirate looking at 55). I'm a
third generation Florida native, and absolutely love the
state. I'm housebroken, obedient, and well-behaved around
women: I only attack on command. I love ironic, sarcastic,
and slightly skewed humor. Rocky Horror is a favorite.
Children: None.
Interests: My work and play (and they've mostly been both)
have always been around the water. I love poking around
Florida's inland waters, especially the springs. I'm an
avid reader and a collector, of sorts (have a modest Florida
collection). Favorite author is Jack Vance. I have fully
embraced the IT revolution, although a novice with the
machinery. A short while ago, I was a Luddite; now I can't
wait for "wetware". All my beloved sci-fi is coming true.
I love animals and have a German Shepherd (my second).
