Self-Description: I am a 30-something redhead who dances to beat of a
different drummer. I may look like the guy next door but I am often quite
eccentric. I abhor exercise but I love to be physically active. I hate whiners
but I feel compassion for those really in pain. I believe Jesus Christ is the
only way to eternal life but I have good friends from many different
religions. I donāt watch TV but I love movies. I love tinkering with my
computer but I would rather be hiking through an old-growth forest.
I have lived in many in many places in this beautiful country of ours and no
matter where I'm at; I find I'm most comfortable in the great outdoors. I
enjoy big cities and small towns but my passion is for complete wilderness
with no civilization in sight. The funny thing is, you can find wilderness in
the big city, the small town and everywhere in between. You just have to know
where to look.
Children: Fiona, 1-1/2, a delightful little girl with fire red hair
and porcelain skin. It takes us twice as long to shop now because of all the
people that stop to coo over her.
Interests: I build custom furniture as a hobby but I have not sold any
of my work yet. They have all been gifts for extended family and now for my
daughter.
I enjoy playing computer games when I have the time but I dislike the
"first-person-shooters" that have become so popular of late. I prefer
adventure games like Myst & Civilization that require you to engage you brain.
I'm not really into watching sports on TV but I like playing them. Ultimate
Frisbee and backyard volleyball are probably my favorite group sports. I think
its because they are appropriate for all ages and you can play them almost
anywhere with a minimum of specialize equipment.
Rock climbing is something I've gotten into but I have not done a lot of it,
mostly just indoor climbing walls, all top-rope climbing or bouldering.
I love to canoe and kayak but canāt do it as often as I'd like. By the time
you get the canoe strapped on top of the car and drive to the nearest body of
water, you could have been hiking for an hour already.
I am a voracious reader and I'm always trying to stuff more information into
my brain. I am currently commuting an hour each way, by bus, to work so I've
had a lot of time to expand my knowledge.
I enjoy venison and other wild game but I have tried hunting and did not
manage to get a single shot off. All I got was a nice view of the woods from
an ice cold tree stand.
I am a big fan of this website, as I always enjoy meeting and learning about
other redheads. In fact, I have done a little word of mouth advertising to
other redheads I see on campus here at the University of Washington.
More Info: I am always trying to add a new hobby to my growing list,
although my wife tells me I have too many already. Since this is a
miscellaneous section, I thought it might be entertaining to list them all
here (at least for me).
