Self-Description: Hi there! I'm Nick. Have recently graduated from
a 4 year Computing course at Imperial College in London. Took a kind of
"gap" year to work for my old school as an IT Technician, but am starting
in London as a Database Engineer soon.
My friends would describe me as a calm, gentle and committed bloke. I can
be a bit quiet around people I don't know, but once you get to know me I
tend to enjoy having long(ish!) interesting conversations - definitely
enjoy going out with friends. I used to worry about what people thought
about me, or just worry in general, but have got better these past few
years (kinda shows what university does to you!).
My parents describe me as a sensitive, good natured person (had to ask
them as I get a blank mind when answering these type of questions!)
I consider myself a determined, hard worker, although I do enjoy to relax
once in a while (don't we all!).
Got engaged last year! My beautiful fiance Natalie is also a redhead, and
we are getting married in September (2004)!
Interests: Having been a computing student, obviously I would
say that one of my main interests is computers/programming, but I also
enjoy reading when I get the time. Love reading fantasy (Terry Goodking
and Robert Jordan are definitely my two favorite authors om that
field!), but also enjoy reading Theological stuff when I get the
chance. I also enjoy listenning to wide range of music - on the modern
side (at the moment, as my tastes often change), I like Tori Amos,
Queen, dcTalk, Simple Minds, Crowded House (to name just a few), and on
the classical side I like Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Beethhoven etc.
At the moment am trying to get my feet on the ground in terms of
wedding arrangements, mortgage for housing etc, but while I was at
university I was fairly involved with activities at Church (Alpha
course, anybody? http://alphacourse.org), and intend to continue this
after our wedding.
Also, when I get the time, I sometimes enjoy going to the theatre,
although being a recent graduate in near London, it's not often I can
afford to go! Used to collect DVD's/go to the cinema a lot, but again,
can't afford that much at the moment.
