Self-Description: Let's see... I am outgoing, outspoken, and
opinionated. I can be your best friend or your worst enemy. I don't trust
easily, and I can really hold a grudge. I'm smart and stubborn with a
slightly twisted sense of humor. I'm unpretentious--I'm the one who'll tell
you that yes, you DO look fat in that...if you ask, of course. ;) I like
trying new things and can be pretty darn spontaneous. I'm organized, and I
can't function mentally in a messy environment...although other peopl e 's
clutter doesn't bother me. I'm very independent, almost too much for my own
good sometimes, according to some (including my mother!). It's not that I
don't enjoy the company of others, it's just that, well, you know? I'm not
such bad company myself. ;)
Children: Not yet...and not for awhile! I do have a darn cute lop-eared bunny named Chloe though. :)
Interests: 1. Piano--I'm a classically-trained pianist. I took
lessons from the time I was about 6 years old through college, although I
played by ear before that. I'm not a very outwardly emotional person, and
playing piano is something that allows me to express feelings that I may not
do as eloquently with words. I haven't played regularly in awhile in order
to concentrate on my graduate research, but I'm hoping to ease back into it
when my course load lightens.
2. Animals--I LOVE animals and am very anti-animal abuse. I'm not a
vegetarian but you've got to have a heart of stone the size of a PEA to kick
a puppy.
3. Astrology--I'm a Libra with a Scorpio ascendant...ahhh, it all makes
sense now! I don't necessarily believe in astrology as a form of
prediction, but I got my natal chart done and it was dead-on accurate.
4. HTML & Webpage Design--Check out my webpage! (And please, please, PLEASE
sign the damn guestbook!) I taught myself HTML and did all the coding
myself. Not very complex, but hey, I'm a novice.
5. Travel! I'm thinking of leaving Connecticut after graduation in May for some much-needed adventure. I'm considering the South--Georgia, Virginia, Texas, the Carolinas... (If anyone has any tips for me please feel free to email me!) :)
More: I'm a grad student in musicology and if all goes as planned, I
should get my MA this May (2002). This is my 7th straight year of
college/grad school and I have had it! I know, I know, enjoy it while you
can, you're thinking, but I really wish I had taken a year off in between
college and grad school. It's mentally exhausting and at this point I'm
really worn out. I'm hoping to get a job teaching at a community college
after I graduate and return for my PhD in a couple of years.
