Self-Description: I am, to most folks, a complete mystery. An anomaly. I
have heard others describe my personality as eccentric,
unique, reserved, intense, veiled, icy, vibrant, enigmatic;
depending on the individual and the circumstances. If you
were to encounter me on the street, sitting at a small cafe,
you would most likely find yourself the object of my close
scrutiny -- I would be peering at you from behind my cateye
glasses, over the top of a unfolded menu. I am simply a
person who likes to assess the whole situation before making
my move. I hide my emotions well, when the need arises. I
have an extremely over-active imagination and thus live a
wild mental life. In life sometimes I do give into my
internal fancies, much to my own chagrin. But what good is
humor, if we cannot laugh at ourselves, eh?
Interests: I am most interested in philosophical matters,
and earned my BA in Philosophy from the University of Idaho
(graphic design is just my dayjob). I am a staunch feminist.
I love Macintosh computers (because I am a graphics geek,
right?) and am somewhat of an Apple-ophile. I also love to
write. My plan in life is to write novels, find someone
willing to publish me, and eventually make enough money to
buy a farm with horses to ride near the ocean. (And then I
will sit there, on the shore of the Pacific, and think. Just think. All day.) I actually
have begun my first novel: it is a fictional account of the
life of Hypatia, a female philosopher who lived in
Alexandria around the fifth century CE. Although she was a
real historical figure, not many of the details of her life
have been preserved.
More Info: I am living in Saint Louis, Missouri for the time
being while my husband is finishing his PhD in molecular
biology. I spend many a day longing for the cool, fresh air
of the Pacific Northwest (I am from Oregon). I also have two
kitties, named Delilah and Cleopatra (they are Queens of the
Nile!), whom I love dearly.
