Self-Description: I am 5'9" with my weight in proportion. I am
spontaneous, quick witted, sexy, opinionated, adventurous, wild & crazy.
Small little freckles that have kissed me all over. I can tan, but I have
to wait to go out after three pm. I am also a melanoma skin cancer
survivor.
I grew up without a mother and had no idea what to do with my head of
hair, either did my father. I have three sisters, I am the only curly
redhead. From my maternal grandmothers side. We brushed and it looked
beautiful, but the older I got the curlier it became. My father thought
if it is cut short it will be more manageable. Can you say FRIZZ? Most
redheads know that word. I had the nickname of BOZO when I was 14. I
heard the light socket jokes, etc. I tried to wear a stocking hat to bed
at night after washing so it would be flat the next day. No such luck. I
was convinced by someone one day to cut it all one length, that the curls
would love it. They did!. I finally had a presentable hair style. It was
short, about 4" long when wet. So half that when it dried. As it grew
out the curls just flowed off of my head. I had some of my girlfriends
in high school getting perms to look like my hair. As I got older, women
that were, and are my friends have also done the permanents. I have had a
lot of women try to get my hair look, but you can't copy nature.
I have been wearing my hair like it since. Not much else will work. I
have tried other styles, but they just don't seem to be me. I love my
hair now. I have tired to imagine being a blonde or brunette. Just can't
do it. I love being a redhead!
