Self-Description: I described myself on another site with this following statement: I guess this might best describe who I am. The year was 1974. I was 10 years old. The Vietnam war was coming to a close and Vietnamese families were being relocated thruoghout the U.S. A family just so happened to move into my modest midwestern neighborhood. School year started and one of the vietnemse boy's was our age and in my class. Yes, he was different. So in typical American fashion, when one is different, that opens the door for ridicule. This kid, (to this day, I wish I could remember his name)came to school smiling everyday because he was happy to be living in a better place. Or was he? For the first week of school, I watched as he was relentlesly picked on. I knew the feeling all to well as I grew up having red hair. But I had an equalizer. I was an pretty good athlete, (not to be a braggart) and this was my way of equalizing the score. I took him under my wing and became his friend. I often sent my other friends to the back burner in order to be his friend. I was his interpreter when his broken english could not be understood, I taught him how to play football, basketball, baseball, soccer and most of all, how to fight. I stood by him thru all the judgemental, ridicule that he was enduring. Then the day came, the most defining moment. He invited me to his house. His father introduced the family, sat me in a chair, and served me a glass of milk on ice. (now, milk on ice is not something I was used to, but traditional for viatnemese). But I could tell the importance of the moment and graciously accepted. I was being honored. Ha, a ten year old kid! But to be honest, I was just doing the right thing! There is a moral to this story, and if you can't see it, you need to work on your ego and self esteem! I only knew the family for about a year and they moved on. To this day I still wonder about him and his family!

Interests: Fishing, skydiving, exercise, BEER (lol), playing drums.
