Self-Description: Most of my friends, family, and teachers describe me as
'insightful' and 'cynical.' My name is Mary, I'm a human biology student
in Albany, NY. I've been interested in science ever since 2nd grade when
I did a book report on Jonas Salk. My friends joke about me wanting to
be a forensic pathologist- "You're going to be the live version of
Scully!" Get this, my last name's Scollan. Not only do I want to work
for science, I want to write for it. I could write anything from
newspaper articles to text books, and have this great idea for a new
format of text books including letters, cartoons, dialogue, short
stories to explain science.
Interests: experimental and industrial music, science, virology, ice
hockey, writing, Taoism, architecture, travel, culture, reading, Franz
Kafka, Mark Salzman, planes, cEvin Key, pop art, WIRED magazine.
More: When I was young my Mum took me to pick up my sis at Kindergarten,
and this kid named Matt broke my nose bonking it with a rubber carrot
calling me 'Carrot top.'
