Self-Description: Who I am versus what I am? I'm a strong willed Aries with Leo as
my rising sign, which makes me my own worst enemy at times. I live in
the present, but my ties are in the far distant past- sometimes it's
difficult to fit into today's society. I'm a "wingnut" to the nth
degree. I'm possessed of a quick and rather sideways wit, brutal
honesty, and a warrior spirit. I almost never refuse a challenge, and
almost never give up. I'm most proud of the fact that I can find a
redeeming quality in any child I work with and help others see that child (and the child
see him or herself)in a different light. I do have a softer side, it's
just not apparent to many people, but if you watch carefully, you'll
see it flow out once in a while!
Children: I have one 19 year old daughter, not technically a redhead,
but has the charm, wit, and personality of one. She is a gentle
creature, quite the opposite of her mother! Look for her in the
future, she'll change the world, in her quiet way!
Interests: My interests are varied as are most people's. First and
foremost, I love getting down and dirty in the garden, the woods, and
in anyone's garden who will pay me! I've been gardening since I was
"that old" (and in several past lifetimes). My favorite challenge is
an old, unloved, overgrown garden, who has been neglected. I truly
enjoy burying my hands in the soil and using my energy to revive a
garden. I am passionate about music, all types, from Gregorian chants
(pure music, the sound of the human voice), to hard rock and
everything in between- although I'm still having a problem with the
polka thing! I'm a tenor, and therefore have the best of both worlds,
beautiful melody and the cutting harmony that brings a choral work to
life. My love of the green world has led to a intense study in healing
herbs, and after several years of study, have created a natural herbal
product line of which I'm quite proud. We discovered sailing this
summer (it's a loonnng story, and this is truly a challenge for me, as
I am a non-swimmer, and have vertigo (an inner ear thing, that makes
you get dizzy)- but I'm getting the hang of it. HA! I enjoy hanging
with my daughter, although she's away at college now, we still see
each other on a regular basis. It's cool to party with your kids! Um,
what else? Biking, gardening, reading, gardening, movies, gardening,
hanging with good friends, gardening, travelling, dancing with the
green man, lying in the grass on a summer afternoon, midnight sledding
parties, and trying to enjoy every second of my short time in this
particular existance. I miss my SCA days, but Mistress Rose still
makes that rare public appearance, when the time is right.....
More: Live each day in gratitude and gather rewards in the most
mundane of places. Walk your road with honor and purpose. Be not
afraid, for the Ancient Ones watch over us all, and no matter how
lonely you feel, you are never truly alone. Green blessings to you
all...
