Self-Description: Wow, describing yourself in a few short paragraphs is always hard, isn't it? I take pride in being my own person -- forming my own opinions and actually thinking about issues. Not to toot my own horn, but I know I am highly intelligent and thoughtful. Our society is one of labels, none of which I seem to fit. As an example, political viewpoints can be either "conservative" or "liberal." What do you call someone who is both, depending on the issue? A free thinker, I suppose. That's me! I'm different, and I know it. That's just something you have to revel in, isn't it?

As far as being a redhead, stereotypes abound. Yes, I have a bit of a temper, possibly the most common. And I am definitely a bit odd, another one. However, I don't define my personality in terms of my hair color.

On the other hand, as a physical sttribute, the hair is something I take great pride in. I love looking different from other people. I love the fact that I can look different, and good, without glooping on a ton of makeup, something I go without 99% of the time. And the freckles just add to that. I love having lots of freckles as much as I love having lots of red hair.

One thing has always puzzled me though.... When I was younger, up until I was about 18 or so, being a redhead made me a traget of moderate ridicule. I looked about the same as I do now, but no one (guys and girls) thought I looked pretty. Odd, goofy, silly, and weird were words I heard often. And then all of a sudden I was gorgeous. Guys were attracted to me solely for my hair, and other women wanted it. I have never quite figured that out. I suppose tastes change as people age.

Children: No children, and at the moment I don't think I will ever have any. I may re-think that issue in 10 years or so, but not anytime soon.

Interests: I'm interested in a wide variety of things. Some "girly," some not. But who cares about stereotypes like that?

I read, constantly. About eerything and anything. I can honestly say that I have learned more since I left college, just readign on my own, than I ever did in school.

I love anything outdoorsy -- hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, gardening, just sitting on the back porch and watching the world go by.

I love cars, driving in the country, and anything mechanical. Machines and their design fascinate me.

I have a reef aquarium, and a massive collection of exotic plants.

I sing with a guy at a local coffee house every so often, and hae a blast doing it.

And all the usual stuff -- watch movies, hang out with friends, etc, etc...
