Self-Description: I was born into a family of non-redheads. My dad is brown/brown, mom
brown/green, sister brown/green and other sister brown/brown. I've heard
imaginative stories as I grew up as to where my red hair came from; milk man, I
was born during a heat wave in Chicago Illinois and the air conditioner at the
hospital was broken, switched at birth...etc. I learned at a VERY young age to
state, "it comes from my mother's side of the family". I didn't know if it was
true or not but at 4 you just want people to stop touching your hair! As it
turns out there is red in the family (obviously, it's genetics not magic), my
grandfather had a red beard and my father, who was adopted, had a grandmother
with red hair. I've heard it all, carrot top, the red head is dead etc. I am
special, not just because of my hair, but it's helped.
I wonder now as I move into my 40's, what will become of my red locks as I grow
older? Will they fade? Will I turn grey or just white? So far it hasn't
changed much, it looks a little brassier then it did when I was younger.
Interests: I have a husband and two boys ages 8 and 5. I have a part time job
that keeps me busy during the school hours. I like water sports, cooking,
baseball and reading. I have an ongoing affair with any SPF product over 30.
