Self-Description: Like so many people here, I spent my youth cursing the hair gods! I knew when I turned 16, I was SO dyeing my hair. But it seems when I turned that age, that even though I didn't like it, I was okay with the color and couldn't imagine it any other way. I was the only redhead in my family and grew so tired of hearing "where did you get your red hair," that my mom died hers red and has been a redhead ever since. My sister came along when I was 16 and although she started out as a blonde, her hair changed colors and now she's a darker strawberry blonde. So,once while entering a club the bouncer proceeded to tell me that redheaded women are either really gorgeous or dog ugly. Of course, I looked at him with a raised brow to see which he considered me... He said, "Gorgeous, of course." I laughed. Another fool who didn't understand the redhead mystique! You can keep your bottled blondes or Kate Jackson brunettes, I'll stick with the esteemed ladies who have made it cool to be a redhead: Maureen O'Hara, Lucille Ball and one of my personal faves, Bonnie Raitt! Rock on redheads!
