Self-Description: I guess the best move is to start with Trinity101- "the basics" I
am a twenty-some-odd year old grrlet who spent the first half of my life
living in Florida and the second half (thus far) clicking my heels and
hoping to get back every time it snows. In my quest to become a
professional student I have already gotten my BS in behavioral
neuroscience (a subfield of psychology) and a minor in philosophy
(Aristotle is totally my bitch-and he likes it-because he is a perv like
that) and I am almost done with my MA in Forensic Psychology- which is
why I am in New York. After this? Hopefully I will get into a program to
do my JD/PhD (getting a law degree and a PhD in clinical psych at the
same time). Some people hate school- can't wait to get out- not me; I
don't ever want to leave.
Having said all that I figure it is time to move on to the things that
are a bit more interesting- the things that you don't small talk about
with someone when all you really want is for them to pass the ashtray
not ask for your digits. I'm not really a hottie- never claimed to be
one- wouldn't really want to- so if someone is actually strange enough
to read the site hunting for that you are barking up the wrong tree. I'm
an intelligent woman- I pride myself on that as much as I do the red
hair. I like being the girl who isn't much to look at but a great
conversation just the same. Furthermore, sometimes what you think you
see is not what is really there, I never promised to be sweet, no it
really doesn't matter to me that you thought I look harmless- Don't
tease the Redhead- she has been known to bite. Sometimes sarcasm gets
the best of me. Hmmmm what else? Oh yes, I am a reading junkie- we are
talking there have been points in time that were so desperate that I has
to resort to reading Bartlettās Book of Quotations. But that is okay
because I am a quote addict too. I tend to be a chaos magnet. I don't
mean to be- honestly it just happens that way.
Perhaps the thing that has become most infamous about me lately amongst
those who know me- I have a cat- a very bizarre cat. The cat does stupid
pet tricks on demand, he drags my sweaters around and does little
sweater dances with them, but that is okay because I have been known to
bust out little dances of joy too. He also steals the red slipcover off
my couch and drags it onto my bed so he can have the texture of the
slipcover and the smooshy softness of the bed. The cat may not seem
relevant to a description of me- but if you get to know me you will find
that a cat like this is the only pet one could expect me to have- it is
a four legged version of me. I am almost proud to admit that I am
becoming the strange cat lady- but hey its okay- Tomato Nation says so.
I think one of the biggest influences in my life that I have never
actually gotten to meet was Dorothy Parker- she is- well she just is (or
rather was). Reading her writing, and what other people wrote about her
taught me what it meant to have wit, and to be straightforward and head
on- everything I secretly wanted to be all those years where I was sugar
coating my thoughts so much that my teeth hurt to speak.
Oh, and yes, the hair is my own- despite what many may think- it is an
odd shade in pictures, sometimes even in real life, and in the summer my
eyebrows definitely don't match- but I am from a family that on both
sides is guaranteed to pop out a redhead in every generation and this
time it was me.
I don't know that any random little essay can really accurately describe
me- probably the best thing to do is check out my blog. There are
usually a few rants or conversations or other assorted posts that give a
much better glimpse of me than anything I could possibly thing to say
here.
