The Member Profiles.

Alodi - Most of my friends, family, and teachers describe me as 'insightful' and 'cynical.' My name is Mary, I'm a human biology student in Albany, NY. I've been interested in science ever since 2nd grade when I did a book report on Jonas Salk. My friends joke about me wanting to be a forensic pathologist- "You're going to be the live version of Scully!" Get this, my last name's Scollan. Not only do I want to work for science, I want to write for it. I could write anything from newspaper articles to text books, and have this great idea for a new format of text books including letters, cartoons, dialogue, short stories to explain science.

Lass1310 - Being a redhead has always made me stand out. It is a huge part of my personality. I like to be noticed and want to be different than everyone else. Being a teacher is a lot of fun for me. It is the type of job that requires a love of what you do, otherwise it is just not worth it. I love who I am and love my life. My husband and stepson make life exciting, while supporting me through my Master's degree. Without them, I would be lost. I get really tired of fake people who just want to make everyone happy. Just be who you are!

DF - I grew up on a farm in central Saskatchewan and now work for a School Division as an IT guy. I am generally shy around new people, but once I get to know you I am definately not shy! I have been told that I have a strange sense of humor because I can find humor in pretty much anything. I am a Corvette nut! I bought my first one this spring, and will be doing some cruising this summer. :) Feel free to IM me if you want to talk.

Fiesty - Hmm... well lets see... I am of Irish and Cuban decent, Im a red head and a Leo... If that doesnt sound the alarms I dont know what will! haha.. Im Fiery, Im Feisty, Im Feral and Ferocious! RrrrrrOooooooooWwwwwwwL! :) I've also been described as an enigma: "tempting yet innocent looking" (?) No, really I am a good girl (When I am sleeping). I love to make people laugh, as I believe that, that is one of the best things I could do for a person. So there you have it, Im just a playful girl who loves to please :)

starfarmer - I am one of the largest humans most people have met--6`7" (201cm) tall, weigh 320 (130kg) and have 54" (138cm) shoulders. Although I am 42 years old I still have all of my hair, which is a mix of light red, brown red, blond red and white (although I often shave my head). I am of mixed Basque and Semitic origin, although most people imagine I am Irish, Scots or some other northern European; I share a certain Celtic sensibility with those more northerly through the Basque side...after all, most of us have ancient roots shared in Celto-Iberia...at least during the last Ice Age, anyway! more...

Arrancia - I'm so laid back people think I don't ever get mad - and then they push the right button! I often laugh until my sides hurt, but not often enough. I have a huge group of friends, but a small group of best friends who know all my secrets.

My nickname is "Orange" instead of "Red" - I picked that one up in college at Utah State. A few of my friends have applied an Italian flair to it, and nicknamed me "Arrancia," which is a variation of orange in Italian.

ldybg878 - My name is Carrie and I am living in the St. Louis, Missouri area. I like being outdoors, especially during the summer when I can swim. I recently began my career as a 3rd grade teacher, and I love my job. I am an animal lover, and I enjoy thrill rides, roller coasters, bungee jumping, dancing, and meeting new people. If I could afford it, I would spend most of my time traveling.

Elmo - I would say that I'm a very unique person. Most people say that I'm no ordinary girl. I'm slim and petite (as opposed to skinny and short), with hair that has been described with words that vary from copper, to fire, to gold, to orange. And, I have a lot of it. I've been called names such as "Matchstick", "Fluffy", "Puffy", "Big Red", "EnormoFuzz", "Fuzzy"... the list goes on and on. I consider some of these names as insults, and others as compliments. Most people, however, call me Elmo (because Elmo is a fuzzy red creature and so am I). I live with my mother, my twin sister Leah (also on the realm, and she has a picture of us together on her profile), and my adorable pet hamster Hanna. I have a number of wonderful friends. I don't have a boyfriend yet. However, a boy at choir stalks me and teases me continuously. I deal with him pulling my hair often. In addition to all this, all of the older girls at school and choir love to braid my hair, put makeup on me and love me to pieces. Sometimes, I do get sick of people calling me cute. So, as you may see, I'm not exactly normal, but I don't bite!

MissNatla - I'm a redheaded teenage capricorn, but please forget the capricorn bit. I'm hardly the money-grabbing, career-motivated perfectionist they expect me to be. Quite different from that. However, according to my Egyptian Starsign, The Sphinx, I'm a shape-shifter, which suits me just fine. I think I'm a pretty stereotypical redhead, hot-tempered, passionate, creative, intelligent and all that. Modest too. I'm currently in a post-goth non-veggie law-or-crime stage. I'm sure you don't know what that means, but it makes perfect sense to me. I want to become a police officer, and I'm obsessed with Tomb Raider.

tinanicole - I am 29 years old and soon to be thirty. I have been married for 9 years and have 4 beautiful children and 2 step-children. My husband is now a definite lover of redheads. I do tend to have a big attitude at times but just blame it on my hair color. I am a very sensual person and love being in the center of attention as often as possible. I work as a carpenter and love my job. Mostly because there are few other females in the profession. Being a female carpenter gets me alot of attention and being a redhead just puts the icing on the cake.

crimsonhoney - I am 5'4 with waist length red hair. I am a college student studying psychology. I am close to my family, and I love hanging with my little sister (who isn't a redhead by the way!). I am a Christian who goes to church every Sunday and helps with the children's liturgy. I am intelligent, funny, helpful, creative, caring, ambitious, fun-loving, sweet, and a good combination of intellectual and emotional. I try to be a balanced person.

pixelkitty - Having been born in the most isolated capital city in the world (thats Perth, Western Australia) my natural Aries dislike of not knowing everything and everyone set in. Ive travelled all over Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria. I was headed to the Eastern States when I met and fell in love with my now boyfriend. I have two cats, one here and one in Perth. Pixel lives with me and is a tiger in disguise. I enjoy taking lots and lots of photos (both digital and analogue) and re design my website so often that Ive resorted to offering all my designs as templates for users of web log tools.

Chantal - I'm rather shy but love to be around people. My hair gets me noticed whether I like it or not. I may not be the first person to initiate a conversation or the first to say hello but I make friends wherever I go and people always remember me. I guess people think I'm sweet, maybe a little sassy too. I love to laugh and tend to spend most of my time hanging out with others who share my sense of humor.

Kat_Mck - How many REAL hispanic redheads do YOU know? I'm a multi-talented kind of girl, I love to paint and sing and write, real aesthetic, you know? I can play a little guitar and a lot of indian flute. Of course I'm sassy, isn't every redhead? Outspoken and fiesty, most definitely. It comes with the hair. Abstract and philosophical, beautiful, spontaneous, kind and cruel in turn~ I suppose there's only one word to describe me: impossible.

DNCNJoe - I have lived in Southern California all my life. With the ocean and the mountains being only two hours apart from each other, there is so much to see and do here. But I also try to venture out as much as possible.

I am a Christian man who is passionate about life and experiencing it thoroughly as well as sharing it in a committed relationship with my soulmate - haven't found her yet but still looking.

I see life as a journey and each day as an opportunity to meet new people, be exposed to new places and ideas that stretch me. I tend to be conservative in my viewpoints, but I enjoy challenging stimulating conversation as well. Oh, but too much seriousness can make things rather boring. So, life must be balanced by regular doses of laughter (It's important not to take too much too serious).

bikerprincess - Above all things, I am intelligent...known for my abilities to hold deep conversations about most topics...I am extremely funny (or so I have been told)...I take deep pleasure in making people laugh...and in laughing myself...I am spiritual without being religious..I can be classified as sensitive...yet guard myself like a fortress...I am comfortable in my own skin...I like myself...I enjoy simplicity, yet am extremely complex...I treat others as I would like to be treated...I am a loyal friend and companion...I love to kick back and drink a few beers...My passion is riding motorcycles...by trade am very professional...but can go from classy to biker chic in the amount of time it takes to put on my leather biker gear! I live life as if each day is my last...I am well aware that my red hair turns heads..and I love it! I know I am a rare person...and I pride myself on NOT being main stream...

Kristina - I am mulit-faceted and complex, often paradoxical and contradictory. I have a high tolerance for humor, beauty, intelligence, and effort. I have a low tolerance for stupidity, boundaries, structure... I am captivated by music in the many of its beautiful and frightening forms. The music I listen to the most is TOOL, followed by many others, including but not limited to: Tori Amos, Medeski Martin and Wood>Jazz of all types, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Bach, Chopin, Wagner, etc...I could go on forever actually... To "sum myself up" I would say I am a student of the universe, open to its teachings, in awe of its beauty, and laughing at its humor.

Nivie - Your typical redheaded taurus! Serious and quiet....of course, this is only until you rile me, or happen to get under my skin -that of course is a whole other story and if I were you, I'd be careful where I stepped. I enjoy helping people out and feeling needed (a taurus trait I'm sure) but I'm not one to be taken advantage of. I'm a natural redhead, which I think comes from both sides of my family, and although it doesnt come out in either my mother, father or siblings, it sure made up with me. I'm also possitive that being a redhead makes you special, we have something those other washy colors dont =) ...now if I could only figure out what it is....

dorkmanonly1 - I am a 20 year old living in fairbanks, ak. I like to go out and have fun. I am a huge socialite who likes to go out and meet new people. I have lived in fairbanks for six years and have grown to love it here. I work as a photographer and enjoy all shapes and forms of photography. Some of my majors hobbies are camping and playing sports of almost any kind. I am always looking for things to do and people to meet.

Ariel - I am a twenty six year old woman from the Isle of Man. I love the 'net and blogging is one of the things that takse up most of my time at the moment! I try to live happily and to also pass that on to others. I am a working mother, Willow is my angel :o) I also love painting, music (listening and singing along!) oh and loads of other stuff I cant think of at the moment.

Terri_B - I'm outgoing and energetic and always into something. I am a dedicated single mom to my baby daughter Madeline. I can be a real sweetheart, but don't cross me or I'll bite your head off. Some people say I talk too much, but I just tell them to be quiet so I can get a word in edgewise. I am always upbeat and I have an optimistic outlook on life. If you think I'm bad, you're probably right, but then again, you haven't met my mom yet!

Darushka - I am a kind hearted person with lots of friends. I'm extremely loyal and trustworthy. I used to consider myself a people person, but after working in marketing for the past 5 years, I've decided that I don't particularily like people, self absorbed people, that is. I use a turn signal when I drive, which puts me in the minority. I was horribly tormented as a child because I was neither blonde nor brunette. My nickname was "bottle head" because no one believed my hair color was natural. "That which does not kill you only makes you stronger."

Jessy - Well, my name is Jessyka I have a love for Music, Writing, Literature and the arts. I'm planing my escape from Florida as we speak. I am very shy and tend to ostracize myself from certain people and have little or no trust in people but am trustworthy myself. My Passion is self-expression in any form. I've over come adversity in my own self-expression w/ my ability to communicate through speaking or lack there of (I stutter). So I've developed other skills in self-expression, my expression of choice is writing. Someday I hope to write for a music Mag. or MTV. Ever since I watched VH1's pop up video and the Simply Red video came on w/ a pop up that said, "It has been scientifically proven that Red Heads score 10% higher on IQ tests." I have found myself interested in becoming more familiar w/ other Red Head attributes. So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ohh yeah as Henry David Thoreau once said, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."

joyfullgrrl - I am 5 foot 8 inches tall and a well-traveled redhead. I have been all over the world, and have moved sixteen times. My fav. places to have been were Palawen (which is in the philipines) London, sydney, and NYC. I am definitely a city girl, having lived in three of the world's biggest cities.

I adore my animals and run a small animal rescue organization. I'm an incredibly organized person, and I need to be because of the millions of sports I do. (currach, hurling, camogie, soccer, figure skating, cross country) I am a political activist, mostly regarding to basic human rights, and animal rights. I am also a vegan, which has allowed me to skip over the allergies I have (most environmental toxins.) I feel so much better!

VynilGirl - This is me, VynilGirl, that is because I love vinyl clothing (and latex too!) I love surfing the internet, it is unbelievable how many interesting things you can find here. I usually turn on my computer in the morning before leaving to my class (I attend university for hospitality management) and leave it on all day long downloading movies. My other interests include: Dancing (for hours!), cooking for my family and friends, reading books and studying history. Once I get my degree I'm gonna start studying history in college. I'm planning on leaving my country once again (I lived in Miami for a year) and this time the place will be Spain. I'm just a nomad, I love travelling. I wish one day I could find somebody who likes travelling as much as I do... Oh! An important thing I should mention is that I'm very fond of cats...actually I'm crazy about cats. At present I have 2 cats, one of them is black and the other one is my little princess Rita (named like that because of Rita Hayworth, she's also red and I usually joke about her being my daughter) Well, that's all for now.

RossettisRed - Hello There! What a neat site this is...dedicated to true beauty...yes, a little vanity is needed :) I am a very musical and artistic girl. I sing opera and I love to paint, vist art museums, (Modern Comtemporary Art to Pre-Raphaelite) read, write, I love poetry and beautifully written novels. I love to travel...Italy and Austria especially. I've studied in Austria for three years now. I love to hang out in Mpls...I'm always trying to find interesting and hip spots to hang out. Did I say that I'm obsessed with my art and my music? hehe! I love vintage fashion, indie/alt/folk music, camping, running...I love collecting things and just being me and going out of my way for people. Animals (Riding Horses) and Nature also play a major role in my life. And, Of Course...being proud of my heritage and my grandmothers who gave me my red hair.

KennyB_red1 - I am a High School student at this time. I noticed lately that many people compliment me on my color and always ask me where I get it. I assume that happens to the rest of you as well. I am about 5'8" and around 165 lbs. You should tell my eye color and hair color by my profile. I am 17 until the 25th of April. I am not real thin, but I can't say that I am fat either. I don't fit in with many social groups because people think I am weird. (Where do they get these ideas??)

Andie - I love being a redhead. I believe redheads have a mystique and sexual magnetism all their own. I am beautiful at 51 and am intelligent, witty, intuitive and, from time to time, tempermental when driven there. At work I am somewhat of a mother figure and am often drawn upon for advice on life and love. My husband adores me and I him. I am also so glad that at my age my hair color is still red and not as yet grey. I will not hesitate to dye it when that happens.

thensley - I'm a thirty-something professional, who doesn't often follow a professional path, and can often be found on the outer edge of any crowd. I'm a writer by practice and trade, a professor by occupation, and a smartass by nature. There is little in life I take seriously, I enjoy trying new things, picking up new vices, and discovering new people. While I don't have a favored travel destination, I do enjoy jumping in a car or hopping on a plane and winding up some place new. While I often enjoy stories with clear cut heroes and villians, I'm always secretly rooting for the villain to win. The only other thing you need to know is that I have a dark, dry sense of humor that is overly cerebral.

Duchess_Webb - Many have told me I that due to my red hair, I can be very intimidating to approach, but once they get to know me, they realize I tend to be very down to earth, a great listener, and an outgoing friend with a loony sense of humor. A year ago I moved to Aurora, IL. My company, FragileWebb Productions, occupies almost all of my time now.

NightVixen - I'm a easy going person, though many will disagree with that statement, I'm blunty honest and proudly outspoken. I believe in being loyal to friends and family and enjoy life with all it has to offer. Being a Lil' New zealander has it's advantages especially when it comes to teaching others it's culture besides it location! I'm a keen graphic designer especially when it comes to sharing photography work of my own. I'm also a biker! I do enjoy traveling and traveling on a Honda Goldwing is just a mere pleasure with sights and meeting new and different people. I enjoy expressing in my journal. Without it I think I'd not express as fully as I do. With all else I believe in doing the best you can for yourself and live life to its fullest!

Haole - I am currently a student in the official sense (as I have been a student of life for quit some time) I consider myself adventurous, and fearless! I have traveled the southern Asian continent and the surrounding Marianas Islands with little more that a backpack as well as Puerto Rico, Hawaii, the Philipines and Japan. I love different cultures and diversity. I hope to experience the European continent also. I am a traveler and I find it hard to stay put for very long...

red4u2 - Show me the red! I was born with a tuft of orange hair sprouting from my head, and my parents knew then they would have their hands full. I never let them down. My hair isn't orange anymore, it's red and bright. It sits like a beacon atop my noggin, letting everyone know, "I'm the real deal!" My husband is not a redhead, but a warned him that our children better have red hair, otherwise, I'm dyeing it.

TexasTechRed - Well I am 22 I live in Houston Tx where I am a nurse and going to school to get my PHD. I am 5"11 long red hair blue eyes. I love watching and playing sports. Music is one of my first love I listening to any and everything there is known to man ;) I am not the TYPICAL redhead as most people would think we are all hot tempered and have a short fuss but I am not like that I am very easy going and people say I am fun to be with. I have a good sense of humor I laugh at myself all the time so I need people around me to be the same way. :)

iluvbebe88 - I am definitely a cocky red head (on the inside) and sometimes extremely shy on the outside. I am a pretty funny girl and I only go for people that have a great sense of humor. I love my red hair but most people don't know it. I get compliments all the time, and roll my eyes. But on the inside, I am smiling ;). Oh yeah, and I'm in IB and plan to grow up and be extremely rich and drive around in an XJ Jaguar---any kind of Jaguar really. I want money and I will do whatever I can to get it. You know, I'm not a gangbanger, but I work hard for my good grades, and I will work hard for my money. I plan to be a fashion designer, a buyer for Barney's, an architect, or a plastic surgeon. By the way, I'm a really nice person---seriously, and my favorite thing to do is laugh.

AndSheWasNot - I'm loud, impatient, funny, pretty, smart, and a self described procrastinator. I'm getting married in December, and I'm quite excited about that. I'm a makeup artist and a know it all when it comes to politics. I'm very easy to get along with, and really just like to make people laugh.

MrsC - I have been married for 3 years and am still enjoying it very much. We are currenty working on our fixer upper in a historic neighborhood in Chattanooga. While this project has been an adventure, it is more for my husband than for me. I work for a large insurance company, but I deal with computers, not insurance. I am the person employees call when they can figure out how to turn on the computer or sometimes, how to turn it off! I don't plan on working forever. Eventually I want to be a stay at home mom and develop my writing skills. But I am happy right now to bring home a paycheck and walk my dogs every morning, afternoon, and night.

Melinda - Fiesty? Outspoken? Sometime Drama Queen and Eternal Princess? That would be me. It took me many years to embrace the wonders of redheadedness. Now I love it with a passion. I am one of those terminally perky people with a wonderful sense of sardonic humor. Bit of a paradox? That is me in a nutshell. Work? Have to. I work for Disney and love dealing with people. I have a degree in Public Relations and Journalism. For fun, I am known to perform in local cabarets, musicals and comedies. Friends? They call me for makeovers, style emergencies and general comic relief. I am a prolific writer and all-around Renaissance gal (just check out my hair...). As Tigger would say "I'm the only one".

artemisia - I think that Bruce Springsteen once said it best: "Man, you ain't lived until you've had your tires rotated by a redheaded woman."

I've been called a thousand different things, from jubilantly cynical to mysterious and smoky. I suppose my gods-given auburn hair has something to do with my strange and usually unpredictable disposition. Basically at this point I'm trying hard to live and enjoy life to its fullest, even if certain cherished parts of it seem to be slipping away.

Annagirl - A redhead with an attitude and an indestructable determination in life. I've been called both passionate and enigmatic by my admirers, both adjectives I agree with. My fiery redhair does truely match my firey temper if you strike the match. Those I love I love deeply, and when crossed by some schmuck or another it becomes very impossible for the crosser to get past the velvet ropes again. Lots of zest for life and looking to always see what's next and always - always into a good conversation.

dbcowboy - I'm the kind of redhead that gives us the reputation of being hotheaded. When I was little, I was always losing my temper. Fortunately, I'm a lot better at maintaining control since I've grown up. Once people get over my often-biting humor, they usually come to enjoy my company, since I try to know a little about just about everything. I work as a database administrator, which keeps me interacting with people on a regular basis, but also uses my organizational talents. I'm generally a happy individual, and I've achieved quite a bit in my life so far. I look forward to achieving more.

BigRed - Hi, my name is Steve, I've been a redhead for 31 years. It's been three months since my last hair cut.

My hair gets real thick and that drives me nuts. It curls into large clumps that can not be combed by normal means. I also have this crazy cowlick that was painfully obvious during the 70s and 80s--back when feathered hair was in style, back when I'd let my hair puff out as big as any fro you'd ever see.

As far as I can tell, it has been zero advantage for me being a redhead. One would think that it has some benefits, but I have yet to find any. I'd rather be tall. Redheads do not tan, they suffer from skin cancer, their noses, ears and necks burn every summer. When I was a kid in California and then Chicago, I hated wearing shorts because my legs glow in the dark.

LilRedAK - I am a very happy girl. I love Life, and it shows. I've never met a stranger, and can talk to anyone about most anything! I am creative, fun, and like to make people laugh. I love chocolate, and Pepsi. Pizza is my favorite food. I love Taco Bell as well. I am a hard worker, and love to help people with their problems. I can be moody, and I definately have an attitude. My hair has been the topic of many conversations with friends and family.

Aim - 32 years old from Seattle, with the most amazing partner in the world and 4 cats between us - hers, mine, ours. I work for a company that gives me as much free GOOD coffee as I can drink, with more to take home on a weekly basis. What more could I want?

Stu - I'm always very caring towards others, and I try my hardest to be sweet. I'm giving, even to the point of the shirt off my back, which I've been doing too much of lately. I'm loving, and truthfully a big teddy bear. I love kids, and can't get enough of them! I can open my arms, and children will FLOCK into them!

Recently, I've been enjoying life more. I've been trying to stop and take in the sweet aroma that surrounds us. Even the bad things that happen in life have a sweet smell, if even because it's all part of living. Having come out of depression recently, I'm able to appreciate what I have. Life is a fragrence, and should be given the time to be noticed.

testarosa - I was born in central Pennsylvania (Pennsylvania Dutch) but lived most of my life, until I moved south five years ago, all over Upstate New York - as distinct from New York City which is another planet altogether.

I have an easy-going nature, off-center sense of humor (think The Far Side). I'm fairly flexibile (i.e. when the crap hits the fan I don't usually panic or blow my stack) and I have a lot perseverence (some would say stubborness) because I hate to start things and not finish them.

Tenebrous - I feel that my personality does well to reflect the natural shade of my long, thick hair; I am fiery and demanding. I enjoy living comfortably, and I am extremely motivated to do so. I am told that my hazel eyes carry the intensity of my desire, ever seeking new opportunities. I suppose this makes me quite the optimist in many ways, with an open mind and heart. I am a very spiritual person, but I would by no means claim to be religious. I am a physically fit person, something of a health nut I suppose -- I only drink water and occasionally juice, and I try to eat well, though I enjoy fine dining, regardless of how fattening it may be. As a fencer, man of honor and word, I would call myself both elegant and eloquent, graceful and polished. I seek always to better myself, and in doing so, those whom I keep close.

Heather - Outgoing yet reserved, independent though dependent;I am full of contradictions depending on my "mood". I can be passionate and playful then serious and staid. My musical taste ranges from Metallica and Disturbed to the Doors and the Beatles. Never anything but a redhead (though I'd love to throw a wig on and see if people recognize me!). I live about a half hour from the city (Boston), and an hour to the Mountains (New Hampshire). For me this is the "best of both worlds" and I can follow whichever road seems most appealing on any given day.

D_Blitzkrieg - Who Am I?

I am a regular guy...I suppose. The only child, which left me to my own devices, and gave me a creative & inquisitive nature.

From what I have read, it looks like I am a true Aquarius. Looking @ the big picture first, and worrying about the details later.

I like to stay physically active; I box (and am looking for a club) & lift weights, and make attempts at playing guitar. Additionally I like to read, travel, and am a pretty good chess player (I'm always looking for a game).
