Eden - There are lots of single words I use to describe myself: woman, American, writer, witch... but one word I'm really proud to use is "redhead." I live in northwestern Pennsylvania with my tall, dark, handsome man and my shorter, darker, incomparably cute Adventure Dog. My non-writing obsessions include The Sims, webpage futzing, RPGs and blogging (ie: writing, really). In better weather you can add biking and gardening to the list. "It takes a red-headed woman to get a dirty job done."
RaggadyA - For the first year of my life no one was quite sure what the color of my hair was gonna be.. I had none! Then right around my first birthday it started to come in and it was red. WIthin weeks my mom's hair was dyed to match mine. I was trained at an early age to respond "I got my red hair from my Grandpa" when people would stop me on the street. My hair has gone from Fiery red to fiery copper. I would not trade being a RED head for anything in the world!
Shadow - I'm 5'3, lanky, 107 lbs. I don't think that I'm beautiful, I don't think of my physical being a whole lot, at times when I do I just begin feeling awkward and clumsy. I hate the fact that because I am a woman people and society expect me to act a certain way or not say certain things. I consider myself androgynous. I'm stuck inside my head A LOT. Pretty people who do not think, and I don't want to sound overly mean, disgust me. I love people who can have an intellectual conversation and be goofy at the same time. Well, I think that sums it up!
EricaSteele - I'm an artist...and I love many forms of art medium, including paint and clay sculpture, but I see film as the ultimate art medium, and am therefore pursuing a career as actor, screenwriter, and eventually, director. What I really want is to make films that will have a positive impact on our society. Films that will inspire, uplift, and also make people re-evaluate and elevate their thinking. I am honest, direct, strong, and intelligent, and I believe in living life passionately! I have three beautiful children that are the center of my life, and a constant source of joy and inspiration, as well as a constant source of exasperation! (two teenagers) Spirituality is an essential part of my life, and has brought me to the path I am currently following.
June - Although I pay the price in the sun with my fair skin It is worth it! I love my strawberry blonde hair. It is a part of me that makes me different. Growing up in the south with all the humidity and frizz that goes hand in hand with curls. It was tough! Not only was it red, but frizzy! I was teased all the time. When I have moved to the west and grew into a lady, I started to realize what a gift I really had. Guys love it, women want it and people remember me.
redclara - My father was a redhead and all 4 of us kids are redheads also. I was born & have lived all my life in Calif. I was teased horribly in my childhood about my redhair & hated it then. I have learned as an adult, those kids were just jealous. I am very proud of my redhair now & am sad it is fading with age. So, I sometime color it to bring back the redness, but the colors are so fake. I am an upbeat kinda gal & enjoy life.
redrave88 - I'm easy going, funny, 5'10/160, short red hair. I enjoy a good movie at home or away. I love spending time outdoors from spring to fall, fall-spring are spent indoors eather painting or working on unfinished jobs. I do not drink or smoke (and drugs do NOT work for me). I enjoy working out and watching my health. I believe that life is not about playing games with the hearts and minds of people. People and life are valuable to me and are treated as such. I love giving and getting flowers too, going out to dine, movies, dancing, taking long walks on the beach, having long talks, being spoiled as well as spoiling my partner. My food preference is Italian, with additional emphasis on ice cream and chocolate kisses.
Never - Hi. ^_^ I'm a 20yr old Philosophy and Sociology double major at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I've lived in such exotic places as Washington DC, Sydney, Tokyo, and Schenectady NY, but I'm spending this summer in Boulder, where I'm working for the Bureau of Sociological Research, attending summer classes, and doing a LOT of screwing around on the internet. I'm a short, energetic, outgoing redhead, who loves people, especially ones who will argue/debate with me. I'm also a big geek, and perhaps a little too introspective for my own good, but I've got a lot of joie-de-vivre to make up for it. I believe that the world would be a much better place if everyone would just take themselves a little less seriously.
Nellie - Im an 18 year old female from Manistee Michigan. Some of the pictures you may see of me will be a little darker red hair because my natural color is so light you almost can't tell that its red!!! And I've got all those qualities you've gotta love about redheads; fiesty, hot tempered, and extremely stubborn! But alot of people will say that is a good thing about me because I stand up for what I believe in and I wont back down! Especially from a friend!
sweetnsassy - I love being a redhead! I have always considered my hair my trademark. It is what makes me unique. Although I sometimes don't like it when people always refer to me as "the girl with the red curly hair" at least they remember me. I work with handicapped kids as an aide in a classroom and am working on a master's degree in special education. I have a particular interest in autism. When I am not in school I enjoy anything with my friends whether it be indoors or outdoors.
FreakyBee - Shy, extremely selfish, morbid sense of humour, fairly stand-offish, can get very flustered and giddy, stubborn as hell, a crap conversationalist and a bit dense at times..
People who don't think about anything and go through life as another sheep really piss me off. I hate the way people talk about how racists are the scum of the earth and then go and rip someone who is overweight or has the wrong shape of nose to pieces, making them want to commit suicide. Why doesn't anybody understand that it's just as immoral?
Ambrosia - I haven't gotten any taller (5'6") but I have gotten narrower (by about 4 dress sizes). The picture is waaay out of date. My hair is getting longer, but I also have bangs now (not the bad looking kind). I have lots of freckles on my arms and shoulders. I am generally a cheerful, mellow, shy person in public, but in private I am silly and not shy and mellow.
darkeyedgirl - I am one of the many lucky ladies on this planet who were graced with beautiful RED HAIR. We are not only blessed with the red hair, but with the fiery personalities, eh? I myself an stubborn, defiant, rebellious, passionate, energetic, and not really sane. I am responsible, and a great mother, but I sure know how to live my life and SMILE!!! I love the great outdoors, good music (live bands!), and PETS of all sizes and sorts. I love hot sports cars, loud-mouthed and confident men, and of course the greatest love of my life is my blonde, tan daughter!!! Funny how a pale redhead can give birth to a tan blonde, eh? She's a beauty and she marvels at my curls. I guess the thing people first notice about me is my curly red hair and my ever-present smile.
Penney777 - I have been a redhead since birth and when I was a kid I hated my hair, because the other kids teased me mercilessly!!! I hated not being able to tan, either(I always had to wear a t-shirt in the summer, lol).
However, as I got older I came to love my hair. There are quite a few people that I have met, who have tried to dye their hair to match mine!
Lilmsreds - Hiya Everyone, A little about myself, I am Natural Redhead With Green Eyes,I am 4'11" ,110 pds. I am very outgoing and down to earth, dont like playing head games or being played. Love to laugh and tell jokes,I can the life of the party, enjoys being with friends and family. I am also a true Romantic at heart,Life is to short to let it go by so i try to enjoy it to the fullest, we must all stop and smell the roses once in awhile ,I love being pampered ,I enjoy snuggling, bubble baths, candle lite dinners, long moonlite walks on the beach ,sitting and watching the sun as it settles over the ocean, even counting the stars in the sky. Work hard and play harder, If ya find love hold on it... dont be afraid to love and be loved. True love is like ghosts, which everyone talks about but few have seen.. The heart is the happiest when it beats for another
Dearest_9572 - Hello fellow redheads!! I am so happy my friend led me to this place made just for us. You know they say that blondes have more fun, but we all know the truth... REDHEADS ARE THE BOMB!!! A bit about me... I am a tiny little minx of a lady, just five feet tall and very petite. I am the mother of two little boys. Life is good, love is grand! Lift your face to the sun and smile a while....
Alisonada - I'm a vegetarian, tap-dancing, saxophone playing redhead! I'm very interested in the "animal rights" revolution and constantly looking for ways to become more involved. I'm a recent college grad (in commercial recreation/event planning) and waiting tables while I look for my first "real" job! I just got engaged and am currently planning my September 20, 2003 wedding! I'm certainly in that "after college-before real life" phase!
Diablo67 - I'm a free spirit that loves the outdoors. Spend my free city time jogging in Central Park. Weekends I try to spend in upstate in the hills and mountains with my boy friend or even by myself. I am a medical tech and do testing on blood samples. I have my own small apartment, and I really mean small :-) Like to go to the movies and even enjoy The bad ones. I like to mountain bike and camp under the stars. I have two house cats that keep me warm on those cold winter nights and keep the mouse population down.
Carolynbee - I've often wondered if my fiery temperament is really an unavoidable consequence of being born both a redhead AND a Leo, or if it was another of those self-fulfilling prophecies. Sometimes I think that as a redhead, I might have been allowed or even encouraged to exhibit argumentative tendencies and displays of temper, but whatever the case, somehow I ended up possessing the stereotypical "redhead" personality, that of being stubborn to a fault, compulsively argumentative and short-tempered. Hmmm, now that I've presented myself in such a positive light (insert sarcasm here), I should say that I am actually a very loving, caring, warm individual. I may be quick to anger, but I'm also quick to apologize and quick to hug. I wear my emotions on my sleeve, as is most apparent when I am agitated or embarrassed and my normally pallid skin, in true redhead form, turns about 3 different shades of red and my ears burst into flames...or at least they feel like they might.
King_Cobra - I am very interested in different cultures around the world and enjoy chating with people about many issues. I am very open-minded and non judgemental. And....yes I do have Strawberry Blonde/red hair!! LOL:) My whole life people have argued with me about my hair colour....some say its red... blonde..... but it is Strawberry Blonde!!:) So if anyone shares any on my interests then feel free to drop me a line or on ICQ.
Vinyl_Faerie - I'm a redhead (that's for all you slow, "special" people) who lives in South Florida. I'm very happy I was born a redhead; I wouldn't want any other hair color. (except when i had it dyed black for a few years... =P) I'm an all natural redhead. No chemicals here (anymore), although I am pondering dying it a lighter/brighter red to make it stand out a little more. I love music; music is like oxygen to me. My favorite genres are classic rock, gothic/industrial, new age, ambient, celtic... Okay I think I've thrown enough words on here to make a sufficient profile. *wave*
westexadobe - The Realm of Redheads intrigues my sense of internet adventure. Because I walk around with this head of hair I always seem to notice "others of us" out there and I wanted an opportunity to connect with some other fiery, fiesty, smart (and haven't you noticed how smart most us are), funny folks who can relate to some of the emotions and dialogue I've had. I have considered my motives for membership at this time and feel considerably lucky to still be a natural (product free) redhead in my thirties. Sadly enough youth fades and I might need proof that I "was" a "real red-head" once upon a time. I will be a proud, "card-carrying" member, because my personality has certainly lived up to the legends.
JWilmaB - As a baby I had firey red hair. As I grew I was usually called Carrot Top. I actually hated my hair then. I have learned to like the color. I am also very glad it is still auburn now and not yet gray. I studied Librarian and Information Science, and I have been able to enjoy a long and interesting career, having practised as a Librarian in a number of different fields; as Public, Parish, College & Medical Librarianship. I now have the privilege of doing what I want when I want like read a good book, work on my Computer, or work on the house, cleaning the house or washing clothes.
David - OK.... how do i start this task which at the present time im gathering thoughts.. ok get your thoughts together...im a hard worker ive been working since i was 15 y/o i could write an essay with the different jobs ive held.. i must have some dexterity along the way to make it...j/k (lol)... but really ive been told im good w/ my hands. im 38 but i dont feel it. Being a redhead is awesome the older i get the more i realize that fact. We are far and in between...
kjfred - I am a college student who just recently finished my first year of school at the University of Wisconin at Eau Claire. I ran in cross country and indoor and outdoor track, and had tons of fun! I am currently double majoring in Kinesoligy with a Physcial Education Emphasis and in Elementary Education. Which basically means I am going to become a gym teacher! Right now I'm just looking forward to my great summer working at a bus company, cleaning school buses...haha j/k. But I guess at least I have a job. On the weekends I love to go to the beach, which is only a couple miles from my house, go fishing in my backyard (my dad just put a pond in our back yard, it's great!), or go rollerblading! But even though the work of college is tough, I'm definitly looking forward to going back!
RdHdQt3 - I absolutely love red hair and especially mine. I was lucky when born to be a red head, especially with my shade of red. There's nothing like it around. If/When I grow old and if my hair changes colors (most likely) I won't be able to try to keep my shade, cause there's no color in a box like it anywhere. I think red heads are exotic and in my family, red heads have tempers, and are related to "devils." Bad relation! Cause were not devils, were exotic god(esses)
Denise - Growing up, my dad called me carrot-top and pumpkin-head. Therefore, I learned to associate those names with love, and I believe that's one reason I'm proud to be a redhead today. That, and it gives me a great excuse to lose my temper occasionally. My friends tell me that I can be too nice, but my husband doesn't necessarily agree :) I enjoy helping people solve problems, particularly if that means I don't have to work on my own stuff, but be warned... if you do not express appreciation, or worse, come to expect I'll solve everything for you without any effort on your part, I can be a frightfully petty, mean person.
red_riot - i am not much of a small talker but i will do that whole thing if i feel a deeper level conversation coming. otherwise, into the bubble of justin i go. hehe. well, i cant set myself apart with the redhair around here.... but i do write, swing the bat, and eat lefthanded. born and raised left-handed, my only alteration is with the scissors. funny story. i would always ask the teacher for lefties and i would always get these ten-year-old, rusted-out blades. so i just learned with the other hand. guess its not lol funny. anyway, i am in the middle of an english major but i wrote this during summer break. hehe. so expect mistakes. if you want to learn more about me or hang out... just give me some time. i will come around soon. and the fun will begin ;o)
lovevind - I'm an aspiring writer with an incredible passion for Vin Diesel!!!! He is my personal God. LOL!! J/K! I am currently working on two novels. One with my mom about our wacky family and the other is a murder mystery involving the internet and yahoo groups. LOL!! I also do fan fiction based on Vin's movies, of course!! My main occupation is mother though and I am very proud of that! I love being a redhead though that hasn't always been the case. I hated it as a girl because it was something to be teased over. :( But now, I recognize the value and I would never change it. Let's see, I am a proud Texan (Go Cowboys!!) though we just moved to Mississippi. I miss home but hopefully we will be back there soon!! Well, I'm probably boring you so I'll stop now!!
SarahBear - I'm a Utah girl who likes to read and write. I spend entirely too much time online, but I suppose that at least I don't watch much mind-rotting television.:P I live with my parents and younger brother at the moment, I'm 21 years old, and why yes I am a little crazy. One of my favorite snacks is a tin of sardines in mustard sauce. Though the best thing ever is chocolate. My favorite movie is Labyrinth. My favorite singers are David Bowie and Freddie Mercury (Queen is AWESOME!). I prefer text games to video games. My favorite kind of text games are MUX/MUSH/MARE/MUD and such. My favorite of these is SluggyMARE, which is based on Sluggy Freelance.
holls_af - I have my own opinions. I am not judgemental. I'm usually a nice person to get along with, but there are exceptions for the occasional assholes who think they are on top of the world. Im probably the funniest person i know, and i can talk to strangers for hours if they have a good sense of humor. I think im good at giving advice, i usually tell people straight up what i think instead of lieing.. which usually ticks them off when they find out. I like things done my way, with the exception of my job.
RedAnnie - I'm Annie. I have red hair and I'm proud! lol. But seriously I do like having red hair sometimes the light skin and freckles can be a pain but its a small price to pay. I'm 5'4. I'm going to be a freshman in highschool. AND I LOVE LIVING MY LIFE! I have a sister and a brother, but neither is a redhead. I got the red from the gramps I believe. My name is annie which is not a coincidence with the fact that there is a movie about a redheaded Orphan named Annie. I will never live that down.
Jennifer_F - My friends call me the 'Strawberry Blond Bombshell' I used to hate having red hair - I'm sure all redheads can relate to being called carrot top (among other things)! But now I love being unique. I even got a cat that has orange fur and it matches my hair. I'm a overly honest person sometimes almost outspoken. I've been told I'm loyal to almost a fault. My friends think I'm funny but I think I'm sarcastic!
lbamburg - I am a self-reliant and patient person. I prefer a small group of true friends to a large group of so called friends. I am very involved in work, church, and family. I love to do things for people and love to volunteer my time to help. I have a pretty good sense of humor and love to laugh. I think laughter is definitely the best medicine. I have a low tolerance for ignorance and bullies. I love life and appreciate all that I have.
Redmohr - Welsh, what more can I say? Great Grandma started with the beautiful red hair, and there are many of her descendants that carry on the colour including myself and my daughter. I love all things medieval and renaissance, love to dance pretty much any venue, have belly danced for the last couple years and find it not only satisifying but a great workout! I like to think that I am fairly unusual, that although I may have the fiery temper, I have learned to be patient and not to immediately burn down the object of my anger. I like to play with them awhile to increase the value of their discomfort, then burn them. (not really, but I do love the way that sounds!) I have an expolosive sense of humour, and adore a play on words, especially with an adequate target.
Redtrixy - I am an extremley emotional and crazy girl that is about 5 foot 9 inches tall and I have natural red hair and blue eyes that can easily get green with envy. I do not tan because it is virtually impossible, all I can do is get a sun burn, so therefore it gets very tiring hearing some people say things like " geez, ever seen the sunlight?" What jerks, but I will just be blunt and tell them to kiss it, that's life. I have a happy go lucky attitude and the sayings are true for me and all other redheads out there, we are feisty, fun, and Goddesses in Bed!!! Being a redhead is a gift of Sexiness for me.
Anniebanani - Hi fellow reds! I'm so thankful for this website, I love it here! Growing up as a redhead can be really annoying-I didn't want to be different, I just wanted to blend in with the rest of girls at school. There was a lot of jealousy from females, and a lot of teasing from the boys. Now that I'm older, I mostly get women that choose to make fun of me. They try to tell me I'm too white, or they create this pity party for my hair color. It's nonsense how women who are envy you try to change you so your not special. Don't ever, ever change who you are for anybody else!
clanscott - Hi, well first of all I live in a small town in southwest lower michigan, my hair color over the years has gotten darker as I had bright orange red hair when I was a boy. So the names "carrot top, red on the head, rusty", were common as tom, dick, and harry. But I weathered the taunts without resorting to fisticuffs. I did turn out to be more sensitive to others and their faults which I did not throw back at them to get even. I am a music lover, all kinds rock, classical, jazz, swing and big band, country, blues, and most of all celtic, that music stirs my soul. I also am an avid reader of books and daily news publications, im an information junkie. I love sci fi and fantasy, but will sit and read anything by Dean Koontz. I enjoying listen and watching the people around me, you can tell alot about a person by watching their eyes and body language. I'm just one of the real nice guys.
Domingoknife - I just saw the new Spider-Man movie, and I'm now looking for anyone who has a genetically enhanced super-spider that is willing to bite me (the spider will be biting me, not the owner!). I am a farmer, pharmacist, baseball coach, and Mountain Man. Although I wear a black cowboy hat, I'm one of the good guys. My personality is laid-back and at the same time intense. Patience, optimism, honor, loyalty, and humor all reside within me (not to mention a dearth of B.S.).
HardeesNJ - This very nice guy in New Jersey likes everything about and involving humor, it just cracks me up ;-) and I think it has something to do with my red hair. It's all in the genes, baby! No, I truly believe humor brings out the positiveness in people. Leave behind the negativity, the fears, the anger.
As is one of my dreams (or goals if you will) I want to write a book. Doesn't mean this is the start of it, but I guess it will give me additional inspiration. Nowadays I put more time in active living...sports.
pieterr - Having grown up in a family with 3 redheads out of four sons, I can say it's been more an advantage for me than anything else. You seldom have to introduce you twice, and the occasional harrassing led to a minority-awareness that made my coming out as a gay man later on a piece of cake.
I studied physics, but found myself working in IT instead. After some jobs in training and development, I am working for a company setting up seminars on new trends and developments in software engineering.
Jizo - Mostly musician but also with some academic skills and lives in the center of Stockholm, Sweden. I do folkmusic and early music together with dancing and a lot of babbling the nights away with friends, other musicians and new to be friends. I'm a born again Pagan :-) - Wiccan infact, and celebrate the passing and coming of the year and hug's trees and stuff :-). They ( my, so called, friends ) describe me as a bit crazy but nice, cuddly and fun to be with ! I think that in the past I was a bit too sensitive sometimes (cancer) and analytical - "just go with the flow" is my motto nowaday's !
Redheaded1 - I am a NATURAL REDHEAD and full of fire!!! I work full-time and am a student studying electronic engineering. I am hoping to graduate with my degree sometime in 2003. I am an community volunteer and I just finished riding my bicycle 600 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles for AIDS/HIV Services in California. (It gives me great fulfillment when I can help out other people.) I love going out and meeting people. Also, I love to dance and I love anything techno.
wxgirl - I am free spirited, loyal to family and friends, dedicated to my family and my career, and super intense. Some people think I'm out in left field... but that's just because they don't understand. I don't believe that Redheads have worse temprements than everyone else... but I've used that as an excuse to blow my cool at least once before. I heard that there is a province in Argentina where the majority of the inhabitants are red-heads. I would like to go there one day, so that I will be obscure in my red-headed Botticelli's Venus glory... and watch the brunettes and blondes stick out for a change...
Nancypdb - I am a single woman (in a long term relationship and not looking thank you very much).
I am the Senior Manager of Web Services for an ecommerce company - but I'm not some MBA type who learned their lexicon from a WIRED magazine - I'm an honest to goodness programmer analyst. Code is my life. I now sit in an office which is quite beautiful with large floor to ceiling windows and real wood furniture. I come in and sit in it every day feeling like some business man in a suit with matching tie and suspenders is going to reclaim it. The best thing about it is my webcam - my co-workers and I have a site at work where all our cams are hooked up with a chat. It gives us a silly way to see each other all day and make wise cracks via the chat. One of my greatest fears is becoming more Lumberg than Peter (Office Space reference).
JustMe - I can be a total smartass at times, and then other times a quiet angel (not very often). I have been told that I have a great sense of humour, and I love to laugh. I am very sarcastic and quick witted. Im really into the arts. My parents are artists and I am into acting. I am into rock music but I am able to tolerate other kinds (sometimes). I love animals and care for people's feelings if they are kind to me as well.
Denise53 - I was born two months prematurely but it was obvious I would be a redhead from the beginning. I am covered in freckles, have hazel eyes that seem to change color depending on what color I am wearing at the time. As a younger girl, my hair was fiery red to auburn. I was called "Carrot top" by my uncles. I would stomp my foot and say "Carrot tops aren't red, they are green!" During school days and later I was called "Freckles" or "Red." My son was born with blonde to brown hair and my daughter was born with strawberry blonde hair. All through high school she bleached her hair blonde to avoid looking too much like her mom. For the past 5-6 years, she has been a beautiful redhead.
Dian - I have been described by friends as full of life and sometimes I think that I am kept around as a source of entertainment. I am a quiet person until I am comfortable in my situation. I am optimistic and I give everyone a chance, if I am crossed that fiery redhead temper will let you know, however it is easy to get back in my good graces and I do not hold a grudge. I am adventurous and I will try anything once. I try to have have fun on a daily basis as life is too short to not enjoy it, and I believe that a day in which you do not laugh at least once is not worth living. I have a very active mind and imagination and the wheels are always turning even during sleep. Anything that I do I do with gusto and give 100%. So, as you may have quessed I am a natural redhead. I think that we redheads have fiery personalities due to being teased, harassed and asked all sorts of curious questions throughout life. (Just a theory) So, this is why I can take and give teasing as well as anyone.
