The Member Profiles.

emtcassie - I am lots of fun. I have an excellent sense of humor and I don't care who knows it. I love life, my husband, and my little redheaded munchkin! I want aspire to help people, and I believe that is my true calling. So, I am going to school to be a physician's assistant. Looks like a doc, acts like a doc, but sadly paid worse than a doc.

RedBride - Okay, okay, I fess up: I'm a bottled redhead. But can you blame me? You guys have these lovely red locks, and I was, well, jealous. I was a bland brunette as a child. I had a color that could only be described as "dingy". So what did I do about it when I was a teenager? Only about the most stupid thing a girl can do to her self-image: I went blonde. Man, I thought I was the cat's pajamas. I looked awful in reality. The color was all wrong for my pale tone, but I was dating one of "those" guys who wanted a blonde on his arm. Well, after I got my self-esteem back, I decided on red. I saw these gorgeous redheads all over the place, so I admitted to the Good Lord above that I could take a hint. Voila! Red hair looks better on me than my natural color! But you guys knew that red was the way to go all along!

SilverDawn - Like most redheads, I'm brutally honest and this can be qualified as both a pro and a con. And, like most redheads, I'm extreme. I crave adventure, I need a little danger in my life and I constantly look for the excitement in everyday living. A person never knows when she'll die, and I want to suck the life out of each minute that passes.

I'm fiery and opinionated, stubborn and full of pride. I like to be respected and believe that everyone else deserves my respect unless they do something to make me doubt them. THEN they'd best avoid me at all costs. I'm as passionate about my likes as I am my dislikes.

Michael76 - Apparently the red-headed gene skips about in our family. I am the youngest of three, all with red hair despite the fact that neither of our parents are red-heads. One grandmother had red hair on one side of the family, and that was about it until my generation. Now, aside from my siblings, I have one cousin who's a red-head and my sister has two sons with red hair.

My siblings and I all started with bright orange hair. My sister's lightened to strawberry, which annoys her to no end as no one believes she's really a red-head. My brother and I both have had the color of our hair darken as we've aged, but mine's a darker shade of red than his is.

Annie - I'm a fairly easy going person who loves to write poetry and paint. I've done many oil paintings and sold a few. I've also written poetry and had several published. I've also won some money in contests I've entered the poetry. I have four pets, two cats and two dogs. I love all animals. They only want to please and be loyal which is more than I can say for a lot of people. I'm Irish on my MOther's side and proud of it.

Kriss - I am as fiery as my hair! My personality is overwhelming to some, but most walk away with a smile on their face. My hair is my crowning glory, and I tend to use it to my advantage. I am a spontanious fun loving person who CRAVES excitement in her life. My husband has his hands full dealing with me, and I tend to act like your typical red head. I am HOT and extreme about all my emotions! My love is extreme and deep, my passion overwhelming and all encompassing, my anger peircing... I never do anything quietly. I always get the job done, even when it is said it is impossible to do. I love life to the fullest and always will lend a helping hand. Need an activist? I will be there for you if I feel even the least bit passionate about the cause. I will be your friend for life as long as your honest, but lie to me once, and my wrath is strong! I am my own person, I am a mother, a lover a wife and an artist. I am never JUST anyone, I am me!

Jolie - I'm a free-spirited, independent, passionate woman - a true redhead if you buy the stereotypes. I just finished my masters degree in Industrial and Labor Relations (try saying THAT ten times fast!) To my delight and amazement, in the last year I've found both an affordable apartment in my favorite part of Manhattan and the absolute perfect job. Now I'm organizing with the Musicians' Union, combining my two greatest passions (music and the labor movement.) and soaking up all that my favorite city has to offer.

kleanncan - I am a 100% natural red head. 50% English, 50% Scottish. I know what it's all about. I know how it is to be young and feel out of place... To be called upon in a classroom, even while sitting in the very back of the room. I know the feeling of not being able to conceal my identity in a crowded store or shopping mall... all that have known me, recognize me instantly, even from behind and yards away. I know what it's like to feel 'different' and 'unique'. We are truly considered a dying breed. With age, like wine, I have grown to appreciate what I am and how special I often feel... simply in hearing one simple syllable 'Red', I can confidently whip my head of flaming hair around and know that I have been summoned. I have often am amused by women who will dye their hair shades of red. I often wonder what it is they are attempting to accomplish or 'feel'. You cannot fathom being a true red head 'out of a bottle'... you only can know, truly know, from your entry into this world. It's awesome, it's different, it's us.

saffygrrrl - I'm a 32 year old Irish Scorpio natural redhead and you can imagine the fiery temper I have! But I also have a fiery wit and love to embellish stories and entertain people.

Autumn is my favorite month...the bright and crispy leaves, the smell of fireplaces, all the little fairs and festivals, and the moon dancing through the trees on a special night like Halloween. My brother was born on Halloween and I'm so jealous he got that birthday!

I hate to admit this but I actually used to be ashamed of my red hair. When my brother and I were little, we were constantly teased by some of the kids in the neighborhood and in school. I remember complaining to my mother that I wished I had blonde or brown hair like the other kids. I also remember her scolding me about how my brother and I should be thankful that God gave us such beautiful red hair and that people pay good money to get their hair this color. And after many years, I finally get it! She was right. I look at all of the redheads in "The Realm" and I realize this is such a wonderful place to belong!

SCSA28 - I am looking for friends in this world of red heads it is hard to find them and hard to keep them. I am a fun guy to be around and a funny person to be with. If you would like to be friend please email me and I'll be more happy to start a friendship that you wish you had long time ago. I don't look for sexy people I look what's inside as a friend.

FlameSprite - A phrase that best describes me is "Bittersweet Intensity". I tend to come across as very quiet and demure to people I don't know, though some people have thought I'm stuck up just because I'm quiet. It's a very different story once you get to know me. I love to have long conversations about pretty much anything and when I'm not talking I'm singing (which is my very favorite thing to do). I am a deeply sriritual person who can be very kind and understanding, but if I feel threatened or treated unjustly I become a raging beast lashing out with wicked sarcasm and violent outbursts. As long as I feel I'm being treated fairly I'm a whole lot of fun! I love to do just about anything as long as I'm with enjoyable people. I also write and draw in my spare time (being a mom that isn't often), but most of the time I'm having a wonderful time teaching my daughter about the world. There's nothing more wonderful and exhausting than a curious child. Luckily, I also have an open-mind which is constantly looking for more things to learn, see and do; I don't know how I raise my daughter without one. As you can see I'm fairly long winded, it's just so hard to be quiet when there's so many interesting things in this world to talk about. Well, I'm glad to see a place where a redheads are appreciated.

Evil_Aunt - I was born with black hair, but it ended up red just like my mother's soon enough. Out of her six children, I was the only redhead, all the others were blonde, I was pretty much the freak with the odd name, glasses, red hair, and freckles, freckles, and more freckles. I didn't really come to terms with my hair until well into my twenties, I hated the teasing when I was young, and the redhead "admirers" when I grew older were just scary. Growing up red hair was pretty uncool, now it seems that everyone is dyeing theirs the very color I despised so much in my youth. Now of course, I kind of like having something to make me stand out. This picture is my friend Tharon and I, right after I made her an honorary redhead. I think she looks pretty good.

RedBeast - Finally. This site is proof of what I had suspected for decades--redheads do share a tacit bond. Being a redheaded male has always had its drawbacks. The jokes. The name-calling. The unflattering stereotypes: Howdy Doody, Ronald McDonald, Ralph Mouth, Mr. Clean (before he shaved it in shame), and most recently, Carrot Top. But that's all over now, my red brothers (and sisters). Together, we can overcome the insidious bias against redheads, and make the world a safer place for pheomelanin.

Brianna - Red hair, a name that means 'bold/strong/fiery' AND born a Leo - fate seems to be telling me something. I am destined to have a fiery temper, thinking myself to be always right, and be very outgoing.

Actually, I can be quite shy, and I don't loose my temper *that* often. Well, at least not in public :) Unfortunately, I do think I'm right a lot of the time and hate being proved wrong (as my family can attest to, and love poking fun at).

Strangely enough, I have a very competative nature, which, mixed with never being wrong can lead to disaster :)

Being a nurse means that I have a warped sense of humour, but I'm not totally jaded by my work yet. I am a caring person, and loyal to my friends.

Autumn - Smiles and hellos to all REAL redheads, and to all the honoraries who look like us. The season of Autumn describes both my appearance, and my demeanor. The season of Autumn offers us a riot of rich and glorious color. The Autumn pallet is graced by the colors of squash, pumpkins, the burning bush, and the crimson red maple. Autumn is the season that is followed by the harsh Winter when nature is at rest awaiting the first sings of Spring, and a renewal. I can be a riot of colorful fun, or I can be cold as ice. I can be warm, and intensely loyal, or I can chill you to the bone. I can utter words of sweet molasses and honey, or I can freeze you with bitter outbursts. But, you do have a chance. Depending on the ferocity of Winter, you may have a chance at re-growth in Spring.

downhillred - Born a redhead! Born with the "Redhead" attitude! Fair skin but few freckles. Definately a sunburn magnet. Sassy, brassy and full of energy. Don't understand why everyone doesn't think like me. Logical (my logic) with a lot of common sense. The "world" needs more common sense! Can be outspoken and friendly or quiet and soaking it all in like a sponge. Enjoy being around men. Prefer their conversation and friendship to women, I grew up hunting and fishing with my dad, what do women know about a 30-06 or a 16 gage? Have few (2 or 3) women friends, thats enough. Am also very much a loner and like it. It's hard to disagree with yourself!

5alarmfire - If its fun, I'm insatiable. If it's unexplored, I'm diving in. I'm not happy unless I'm active, and I've always got energy to spare. I'm a protagonist, a perfectionist, and an optimist all in one spontaneous package. I'm always looking for a new friend with the inertia to match my own, and get into mischeif with (they're hard to come by). I value a healthy lifestyle, and being fit, and I will try just about anything once, and usually, several times afterwards. I despise routine, so I'm always looking for something to do. If someone with a similar sense of humor ever met me, they would likely find that not only could they not stop talking for one second, but that they still wouldn't get a word in edgewise. I can be serious, silly, or sentimental, assertive or graciously attentive.

I'm always asked this, so I'll just cover it here. No, I've never in my life dated a redhead. Come to think of it, I've never had a friend who's a redhead either! Who knows what the result would be! Volitiley cataclysmic!? Unequivocally divine? The world may never know! I have a wonderful girlfriend that I'm not giving up for anything.

tom65morrow - I'm keen on sports and enjoy living out here in the United Arab Emirates because I can golf, sail and run. I am cheerful, though recovering from a failed marriage to a Spaniard. Being a red-head has meant that I suffer inthe sun too, but I wouldn't change my hair-colour for anything. Some of my happiest times have been spent with a red-haired girlfriend, though the problem with two red-heads being attracted to each other is that most people assume a brother/sister relationship! I was born in Dublin, Ireland (I believe there is at least one other Dublin, but as far as I am concerned the original is best!) Curiously, I am not a Catholic, despite the hair-colouring, so in Ireland I was a definite minority. The redness has affected my life; nothing can beat arranging to meet a stranger and simply saying, "I've red hair, just look out for me".

angelic - Growing up I always hated my hair colour. As I got older I learned to appreciate the fact that I stand out in the crowd rather than blend in and now love the individuality and uniqueness that my hair colour gives me. As you can see, I now wear my hair very long which tells the world that I am proud of my hair colour and how it defines me. Before I used to want to hide the fact that I was a redhead, now I want to show it off!

clsmith - I am the recent victim of a tragic home haircoloring incident. In an attempt to rid myself of the dozen or so gray hairs that resided within my red hair, I colored my hair with Clairol Balsom Light Auburn. The results turned my hair dark brown with purple highlights! It was not until that moment that I realized that being a REDHEAD was a major part of my identity. Being a REDHEAD was who I was. I WAS A REDHEAD DAMMIT. I did not know this brown/purple haired woman in the mirror. I washed and rewashed my hair 35 times in the next 3 days. No luck. Still a brunette. The internet offered no help in removing this nasty mess from my hair but I did run across the Realm for Redheads site! I was hoping that by joining, I would find some advice on how to safely color my fiery red hair and cover up a few gray hairs without looking like some freak.

Well, to make a long story short...after finding no help on the Internet on how to return my hair to it's former redheaded glory...I impulsively grabbed Loreal Hair Color remover from the shelf of the local Walmart. In big red letters on the side it warned, "CAUTION, WILL TURN HAIR RED/ORANGE. HAIR MUST BE RE-COLORED IMMEDIATELY." So, after much thought, I purchased some more hair color...only going lighter with Strawberry Blonde. I tried the Hair Color Remover and GLORY BE!!! That awful "CAUTION" about turning my hair red/orange was a blessing in disguise. This red/orange was actually close to my natural hair color! No need to color over this! THIS WAS ME!!!!!!

ScarlettBird - Hi. My name is Danielle. I am a music teacher/performer from Long Island, New York (Commack). I am the ONLY red head in my family. I am half Italian and half Irish. Red hair is what makes me so different from the "norm" and as a child, it was difficult being so different, but now I embrace it! Not only do I have a unique hair color, but I also have a unique diet/way of life. I am a vegan..I don't eat, wear or use ANYTHING that came from (or once was!) an animal. Obviously, I am in LOVE with animals. My fiance and I are getting married Oct.23 2004. He is a professional guitarist and we make beautiful music together :)

Rote_Bart - As I write this, I am in my 4th year of medical school, having taken the long way around to get here; I was a physical therapist immediately prior to this iteration of my higher ed career, and had been in the navy prior to that. I am hoping to undertake residency training in orthopedics or OB/GYN after I graduate in June. Though you might now think so, the two specialties have certain things in common. For example, they both begin with the letter "O."

I firmly believe that there are 2 kinds of men in the world: Those who have done something stupid out of passion for a redhead, and those who haven't. Yet.

TommyTC - single man with a goal to become better in life, a mind that is always active in music, inventions and creativity! knowing that being a redhead makes me quite unique in this world! working, playing, and watching our world grow is a fascinating phenomenon in which most people let go by with out even a glance. take life by the horns and run with it!

brinedwards - I was born in 1978 in Glendale, AZ, to a wonderful set of parents named Leonard and Hildebrand. They were both active members of the Hillel Synagogue in Phoenix, and they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Oh wait, that's someone else's life...a life that was GOOD!

I lived in Arizona my whole life, and graduated with a B.A. in "Liberal Studies" (polite phrase for "I Have Utterly No Focus in Life") from Northern Arizona University in 1999.

porcupine - Freckle faced pale as a ghost green eyed redhaired girl...tall skinny legs and all. I have too many cats, not enough icecream and socks that don't match. I love my job and strive to change the world one angry teenager at a time. If I was a superhero I would want to be Wolverine but I guess teaching special education to grade nines demands some degree of superhero capability. What else? Favourite colour is purple, favourite world leader is Fidel Castro and favourite place is my own stomach.... Cheveaux rouge est tres belle....

Nichole_Lock - I am a relatively outgoing person, when it comes to the superficial. I will pleasantly speak to nearly anyone, as long as it is at a safe distance. Extreme liberal non-regionalist, which drives the typical and more popular patriotic warm blooded Americans crazy. Introverted neurotic, extroverted loud mouth. Most of what I think is spoken before I can stop myself, but rarely offends. I work in a professional atmosphere constanly surounded by lawyers and politicians. And, I am a Gemini who enjoys long walks and candlelit dinners (typical red head sarcasm).

Tammy5057 - My name is Tammy, I'm 5'3", weigh 115 pds, and am most definitely a natural redhead! My mother told me that when I was born she thought I was completely bald, until a nurse came in and said, "Oh look, she's a redhead!" She then pointed out a single bright red hair growing out of the top of my head. My mom said she was in shock because I'm the first redhead in the family on both my mother and fathers side!

Cherrylips - Hello! I'm Bridget! I'm a very optimistic and annoyingly happy person, and in no way reflect the stereotype that redheads are very temperamental. I'm 19, and a sophomore in college. My most favorite thing to do in the entire world is sing :-) I'm a vocal major at the University of Alaska Anchorage and I sing the national anthem a lot around town, like at hockey games, Thursday Night at the Fights, and a lot of random events around town. People are starting to call me the national anthem girl :-) I'm also starting to sing with a local jazz band! and I'm learning how to play guitar but right now I suck.

ShinningStar - Well I am a red head from a long line of red heads. My mother was Irish and my father German. I have a younger brother and a nephew that are also redheads. I have been married for 20 years to the same beautiful woman and have two children Mickel who is 21 and Michael 19. I have two grandchildren Benjamin 3 and Samantha 5 months. I like to work on my jeep and travel any time I get the chance. My hair used to be really red but as I got older it kind of got darker brown, I keep the top of my hair really short so its kind of hard to tell.

OracleApollo - Just seeing how many fellow redheads are out there! We are a rare breed ;) I am a Senior at the Univ of Puget Sound in WA, majoring in Classics. I'm planning on either going into the Peace Corps or Law School after I graduate, so I'm having as much fun as I can before I have to become a "responsible adult". All my friends say I'm a fiery redhead, I don't see it, but hey I'll take the compliment. It is a compliment right? haha.

Dimaflap - A native New Yorker and apprenticing tattoo artist. I love club and bar hopping, exploring unknown areas of the city, and discovering new sushi digs. I like Starbucks. I like people. I probably like you =)

KenE - I am an impeteous red head that has worked hard for all of my life and tried to live it to the fullest. From being in the US Army Airborne, to working my way through college and graduating, to passing the CPA exam, and to having a wonderful 42 year marriage, I thank GOD for it all.

My advice to anyone reading this younger then me (and I am 65) is to do what ever you want to do NOW! You may not get the chance again due to unforseen circumstances. Go mountain climbing, try both alpine and cross country skiing, try white water rafting, consider rafting the grand canyon, but get out into the wild wilderness that is our country's heritage. Live life to the fullest and don't be afraid!

Princess - Born a Marine Brat on the west coast, raised on the east coast. Furious that we never moved like other military brats. My brother and I were the only two redheads in school up through high school. Had braces at 8 and glasses when I got the braces off, so there was always the double whammy. Grew up following my own drummer. Hated being called a Carrot Top, never minded the other names. My hair is not and never was Orange.

I'm now finished with college (Math Major at NC State University) with a great circle of friends who love my red hair.

redheiress - Hello, my name is Martina and I am a German born and raised REDHEAD. Moved to the USA in 1993 and love to travel in general. I am a funny, outspoken person who loves to laugh and joke with just about anybody. I am a fiery LEO through and through. Love to meet new people and discover new cultures. Currently I live AZ, just moved here from VA in October.

Guten Tag, mein Name is Martina und ich wohne in AZ.. Meldet euch doch mal wenn ihr in meiner Naehe wohnt oder auch sonst vielleicht mal mit mir plaudern moechtet.

judetennessee - My cousins used to tease me that they wourld rather be dead than red, they meant hair color, not political persuasion. However, I am glad I am a red head, i feel it always gives me an identity. My car license plate reads RED ONE! I even love the freckles and the fair skin, it all a part of the red mystique. If I have just one life, let me live it as a red head.

Loegaire - Hmmm... I'm never great at self-descriptions, but here goes... I'm a professional computer geek and an amateur blacksmith, so I guess I take technology at both ends. I love the outdoors and hiking, and also enjoy photography, although I'm still trying to master my camera! I also love animals, and currently have 3 dogs and 4 cats, all mixed-breed rescues.

Just as a final note, I recently saw a very clever t-shirt that I think sums up one of my greatest fears as a redhead...

"Hark! What light through yonder window breaks? 'Tis the east, and Juliet is....AAAHHHH! The Sun!! *FOOM!*

jasondrums78 - I am an active redhead guy who enjoys playing music and having a chocolate chip cookie. I dig the vinyl records, polyesther shirts, funk, jazz, pink floyd, reggae, the beach, dancing, playing drums, bass, keyboards, the country, camping, nature and old microphones. Anyhow thats a pretty good look at stuff I like. Whats the latest with you? Drop me a line sometime, we'll chat...no big whup. Outta sight ;)

Karin - I wandered upon this site out of boredom at work, and found myself really interested and wanting to learn more about red hair. I am the child of two brunettes, and I've always felt a little out of place with my red hair. When I was young, my mom couldn't deal with my thick, curly red hair, and gave me really ugly haircuts that I hated. She also kept it really short,so I never really liked my hair as a child. When I was a teenager I grew my hair pretty long, and actually began to love it. My background is German-Irish, and the only other redhead in my family is my aunt. I enjoy reading about the history of red hair, and it seems like other redheads are the only ones interested in this, so it's nice to find a site dedicated to us weirdos.

Tuzzylou - I am around 5'1" high and have long red hair with bluey green eyes and milky white skin. I am prone to freckles in the summer but they disappear in the winter! I have been told that I have an elfin look to my face but thankfully not the pointy ears!

Growing up with red hair was a nightmare but as I got older I was pleased to have such a distinctive color of hair and now I wear my red hair with pride, I like having it long as I think it suits my personality and in the summer I get golden tones in my hair from the sun! What more could a girl want!

Capice - I'm pretty laid back and easy to talk with, very romantic, affectionate and passionate, sensitive to the needs and desires of those most important in my life, assertive (to the point of knowing I'm a risk-taker), hard working, responsible, occasionally sarcastic and an excellent conversationalist. I'm optimism but I can be very introspective at times. I love laughing and having fun wherever I am (especially when I'm with someone). I also like to be impulsive and on a moments notice, travel or do something special with the ones I love!

BadAgnes - In my family, there's one redhead every generation, and only one. We are referred to as the 'changelings' Try growing up with that!

I don't know if other redheads have this problem, but I seem to attract fire....Things are always bursting into flames nearby.

I don't know that I'd say I have a stereotypical red-headed temper, I'd rather walk away than have it out, over ANYthing.

I'm not short, or teeny, but very small boned and LOOK fragile (HA!). This causes my friends and near friends to be very protective of me, yet I'm fiercely independant, and stubbornly self-sufficient. I find that vastly amusing...

I'm easily amused.

JoannaW - I am very outgoing once I get to know someone. I'm pretty shy at first but once you get to know me just try to shut me up. I'm just a jeans and tee shirt girl, don't like to get all dressed up but do when it is called for. I was diagnosed with Brain Cancer in 2001, and I'm still alive and kickin. I volunteer at the base where my Husband is stationed, and hang out with my neighbor and her baby girl. Usually I just hang out at home, because I'm not allowed to drive. I take walks when the weather is nice, and go to the gym with a friend three time a week. Not a model type body, but trying to lose some weight.

red4life - "Bubbly, positive, upbeat" - these are probably the descriptions most used to describe me. I love life and the inevitable challenges that appear. I view difficulties as opportunities to learn and grow. My "can-do" attitude and determination sets me apart from others who are just trying to keep up with daily living.

I have a very unique background in that I was born and raised in Africa. My international background plays a major role in nearly all aspect of my life today. I love diversity and making discoveries from other ways of thinking and living.

NigheanRuadh - Well, I'm originally from Virginia, but am now a student at Harvard University, majoring in Folklore and Mythology (can you believe it's a real department?!) focusing on Gaelic Scotland. I'm in the process of learning to speak Scottish Gaelic, and though I'm not very good at it yet, I'm hoping I'll get better once I actually start taking classes :-) I love to sing -- I'm in three choirs right now (plus private voice lessons), and just finished performing in a student-written opera. I play the Celtic harp and the piano (kind of). I like most music, from bluegrass to classical to opera to simon and garfunkel; I also love to draw, paint, sculpt, etc, and to read and write. I have a wonderful, wonderful (also redheaded) boyfriend of almost 2 years, whom I absolutely adore . . .

tallviking - I love books and wisdom in general, mysticism and philosophy especially. I also read a lot of books on health and science. Recently I have started writing again, mostly on philosophical and psychological topics and sometimes debates on these same subjects. I also play basketball regularly, if you live in Denver and also play, chances are you know me. I hear a lot of red heads say they feel a strong connection to others of the same hair color. I have to say that in all honesty I feel a connection, however I feel a much stronger connection with other tall red heads (I'm 6'8"), there are even less of us (smile). I love to talk, so if you have mutual interests email me, it generally only takes me a day or two to respond.

Hockeyman76 - Hi everyone, I like to start out by saying I'm a huge hockey fan. I like to go to hockey games and watch them on TV. I normally just go to work and then come home and relax most of the time. I joined the Realm because I want to get in contact with red heads around the country.

D3melza - I'm a shy redhead who is only fiery on the inside. Sometimes I boil, but I rarely blow my top. I have always loved being a redhead, and never really got teased about it. I got teased more about being whiter than paper, and turning bright red at the slightest embarrassment. People usually tell me they envy my hair color, and that's OK with me. My sister and I are the only redheads in our family, but she's in red-denial now, bleaching hers blonde. It's a pity, and it just looks wrong on her! I'm proud to be an authentic redhead. The challenges and compliments it brings me make life more colorful!

DayDream_Man - I tend to be a creative type. Although, that often depends on my environment. Upon public introduction I tend to be a bit silent at first. I enjoy reading a good fanatasy series like the Wheel of Time, and science fiction from authors like Asimov, but anything with sufficient background will do. I absolutely LOVE the Lord of the Rings movies. By my screen name, I am a thinker, dreamer, and muser. The idea of writing a book myself someday is always something to toy with. However, that's not to say that I wish to be a starving artist (can I have a "Poverty Sucks!" from the croud? :). A stable job is what's important. Writing and whatever else can be done after hours (at least until a profit can be made at it (smile)). I believe in nourishing body, soul, and mind, something which comes from Christian roots.

gyrovague - I am a radical bohemian single mother still trying to find my niche in the world. I'm a recent college graduate with a degree in Environmental Studies from an elitist honors college. Now I am tragically underemployed, shuffling paperwork for a wine distribution company. I'd like to establish myself as a freelance writer, but I struggle to make time to write. But someday, if nothing else, I'll have to publish my life story because I'm one of the most interesting people I know:)

FrecklesnCurls - Well, let's see...self description. Basically, I'm a true redhead complete with freckles, non-tanable skin and green eyes. Throughout my life I've always felt 'different' and resented my unique hair color as an additional curse (along with the deathly skin tone). However, over the last several years, I've discovered the advantages (or disadvantages at times) of having this unmistakably characteristic in that people never forget you! It's a trademark and now there's a sincere feeling of 'difference' that I would never trade. I can never 'blend in with the crowd' or say to others that 'I've lost my tan during the winter'. But, I can always be counted on to be remembered!

Leilani - I was born with strawberry blonde hair that eventually turned an awesome shade of light auburn. I didn't appreciate my red hair until several years ago. Growing up with white white skin and red hair, I felt unattractive and never fit in with the "norm". Now I love my hair and play with the color as I love change and have the attention span of a 2 year old!

puccinismum - I am a happy person, mostly with lots of opinions and good intentions. I have been a redhead since the day I was born. I'm not sure what it is about being a redhead, but it definitely something that gives you just a little different perspective on life. I also get away with being blunt and not having to explain why I am. I am the only redhead in my living family. There are some great Grandmothers, whom I only have black and white pictures of, who supposedly had red hair, but that's it. Because of my lack of familial red hairedness I was prone to daydream that one day my real parents would come and rescue me (usually when I was in trouble for punching my brother or something) from my dreary childhood. Besides the redhead stuff, I like the usual stuff, movies, good food, the outdoors, etc. My passions (for the moment) are art history, the quest for a perfect mocha and anything Italian.

Charity - I used to hate being a redhead as a child. But as an adult I've come to enjoy the gift I've been given. I must honestly say that all the teasing and torture I went through as a child finally paid off!

I am 27 years old, working at a Hawaiian Travel Agency. (I love my job.) I finally met the man of life, and I could not be living a happier life.

LoneStarRdHd - Love my hair - Love ME! I am a passionate and caring redhead born in July, a Cancer which makes me loving and quite shy at times. But once you get to know me you will LOVE me, you will love my laugh, my smile and love the way I treat the ones I care about. I can come out of my shell with the right people, and I can be quite the mischievous and fun!

Jon_von - This is interesting to be apart of something so unique only made possible through the Internet. I'm a confident individual who likes plotting my own course. I don't have a typical redhead temper but will break when I've had too much. I'm 5'5", light red hair with somewhat fair skin, blue eyes and athletic build. I have many interests such as: my chocolate labs, relaxing and doing absolutely nothing, partying with friends, watching movies, photography, cyberspace, and camping. Some people call me a "home-body" and I guess that's true a lot of the time, but I'm hyper and restless at the same time!

Book_Lover - Hey, I guess my personality falls into that stereo-typical redhead thing, though since the temper and fiery personality are my own I prefer to think that the stereo-type is unfair. I mean, who really wants to be categorized by their heair color? Other than to be categorized as fantastic, interesting and sexy, LOL. To be honest I hated my hair when I was a kid. Everyone wanted to touch it and it made my brother (born with very brown hair) start to wonder what was wrong with him. But I grew to love it and realized that being a redhead was a good way to stand out from the crowd and you didn't even have to do anything else (though what redhead can resist being as unique as possible?). All in all, I can be very sweet so long as I'm in a good mood, I'm very inquisitive and read anything put in front of me, I love the arts and artists and I can't stand to see anything unfair or unjust. We redheads are warriors after all and should take that responsibility seriously, even if that's all we take seriously :)

becky_red - Everyone says that blondes have all of the fun, but I beg to differ - they've OBVIOUSLY NEVER met a redhead. Once you go red you never go back. I'm bi, bi-lingual that is (I speak the language of love - French). I've been known to steal hearts, but I never break them. I've been told that I have a "ghetto booty" and I certainly put it to good use when I go clubbing. I am a TV junkie - I really think that I should compete on a reality TV show - Joe Millionaire would defiitely go red!! C'mon, wouldn't Elle Woods be sexier as a redhead? Most people love meeting me because of my bubbly personality. Beyond my red hair and job, I am a conservative at heart.

Juli7 - I take a great deal of pride in my Irish heritage and firey haircolor, and have learned to deal with my freckles. Blondes may have more fun, but redheads have more style, substance and sass! I'm a really laid back woman, who doesn't take herself too seriously, and you won't find a better beer drinking buddy. I'm also proud to be a Texan, but I swelter like the fair-skinned lass I am in our 100-plus degree summers. The horses are nice, though. I once heard a man say that there's "nothing sexier than a redhead on horseback." He's got good taste, hmm?
