The Member Profiles.

Cronegoddess - Chubby bubby with red headed attitude...Redheaded father and redheaded grandson...me and dad had lots of freckles...grandson does not, but has beautiful green eyes...

Sadly, I also have "redheaded skin"...complete with skin cancers...it is a trade off. Having red hair has always been a plus for me (well mostly...men and babies love red hair...but teachers can target chatty redheaded kids, and my dad (he used to tell me) got into fights quite often because of his bright red curly hair.

Manda_Loa - I'm a crazy and spontaneous 22 year old, from a boring town in Washington. It wasn't until after I graduated high school that I realized how rare red heads really are. I've learned to embrace my beautiful head of hair, pale skin a millions of freckles. I'm a very big fan of Disney's The Little Mermaid mostly because she was a red head and I could relate to that, she was also the outcast out of her family and wanted things that were just out of reach and that's been very true for me most my life. I also just became a crazy e-bayer collecting Little Mermaid memorabilia and driving my boyfriend and family crazy w/ all of it. I have a license plate frame that say "Never underestimate the power of a readhead" it gets a lot of laughs and comments. I think that's about all there is to know about me. If you would like to know anything else feel free to contact me.

scarlet1 - I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I am becoming a personal trainer and am looking to make a career change into the world of health and fitness. Fitness and health has always been important to me. I believe that you have to take care of yourself because no one else will. That is not a bad thing but a good thing. It is only when you take care of yourself and love yourself can you reach out with love to help people. I believe in the people that I love, both family and friends are what life is all about. My goal is to be the person my dog(all 5 lbs of her)thinks I am!

Glow - I am very energetic and full of life. My husband says that I don't know how to go into a room full of strangers and leaving without everyone in the room knowing me. I am talkative and funny, and find the combination of intelligence and humor in a man to be the biggest aphrodisiac (of course, being a redhead-I don't need an aphrodesiac! I have a hard enough time controling my overly-active libido) I am very accepting and open to other people's opinions and lifestyles and will always defend their right to be express themselves and enjoy equal rights. And I am fiercely passionate in any beliefs that I have.

marcy9460 - I always knew I was different...very different from every girl I knew growing up. Having red curly hair was very hard to understand when I was young...why was I treated like such an outcast and so differently. Then college happened! Being a redhead suddenly made me the sexiest girl around! I'd rather be red than anything else!! I'm unique and proud of it!

I'm a military brat, you can about drop me anywhere and I'll call it home. I'm engaged to a wonderful man, one who can understand my "redheaded quirkiness". I'm very strong minded and can be rather opinionated. It takes a lot to get me mad...but when I'm "there", you better clear the room because its going to be fast and volitile. I've been told that I'm fun-loving, intelligent, saavy, creative, caring, giving and what I always like to hear...beautiful (I never thought I would hear that word correspond to me any way, shape, or form)!

Pinko - Hello all, I thought it was time to update my profile even if no one ever reads it. I am originally from Utah and moved back in December 2005 after completing my MA in American History and Public History at ASU. My focus was in museum and collections management, so I work with the objects. However, I still don't have a real job in the area, but such is life. It is nice to have seasons again. I am the only redhead in my entire family, extended as well. And no, I am not adopted. I'm sure there have to be others but we are scattered around the lover 48 and the ones around me are much older so their hair has gone grey and no one takes about hair color normally. I love my hair, always have. I like that I stand out from my two sisters, one of whom is a blond and the other is a brunette. I keep hoping that one of them will have a redheaded child since I am not married, don't plan on it any time soon and don't want to have my own biological children. Hmmm, that might be a TMI. I'm happy to have found this sight, since there are so few of us, I'm always keeping a weather eye for my own kind. I think the most redheads I've seen in a large group was at the Flogging Molly concert, I guess Irish Punk brings us out in droves!

RahRah - Um, I stumbled upon this 'realm'...to say the least. Not really sure what I'm doing. But the prospect of being part of an extensive online community of people with red hair and discolored skin was overwhelmingly appealing to me, so I suppose I gave in. I've also found that I've developed a strange and rather disturbing attraction to Conan O'Brien and Ron Weasley of late, so I decided to give into my fiery roots.

Um...my name is Sarah. Going on my senior year in High School. I'll be at the University of California, San Diego next year studying Art History and Theatre, or something similar. And yes...If you've haven't guessed it yet, I do carry the infamous red head gene. I'll admit to that. I'm the only one in my predominantly dark haired, regular skinned, mexican-italian-some form of white family, so I've pretty much always been open to unwanted scrutiny. I'm sure the inquiries such as "how'd you get that red hair?" and "are your eyelashes red, too?" are familiar to most of you. My sister always viewed us red heads as an alternative albino population....

graffix535 - I am originally from Cincinnati, OH but I moved to Louisville, Kentucky when I was young. I used to hate having red hair because I always wanted it to be like everyone elses. I tried to dye it once and all it did was take all the blonde out of my hair. I always used to hate being stopped everywhere with people saying how much they love my hair or just reaching out and grabbing it. But as I have gotten older I have realized that I am truly blessed with what I have and many people would kill to have my hair color. I think I am a little bit different from the typical red head though. My hair color is sort of copper but I have blonde streaks almost. It sometimes looks like I have highlights but I do not. I don't have very many freckles. Some that scatter across my nose and cheeks but are very light in color and my skin is pale but more of a olivey tone than most red heads with a pink undertone. I also have hazel eyes that sometimes seem to transform into my hair color. I always find people staring at me and then say " Wow, your eyes match your hair" It sort of depends on my mood and what I am wearing that day. I love the outdoors although I am allergic to everything under the sun. But I truly enjoy fishing, hiking and anything that invloves nature. I guess I have always sort of been a tomboy. But I am ok with that. I am so glad I found this site and I hope I get accepted. I am always looking for other people like me.

blessedjohn - As the young people say, "you are one cool old guy"! I grew up in upstate New York and became a career military officer subsequently retiring in the Kentucky area. These days I spend part of my time volunteering with the Salvation Army and entertaining my grandchildren. I have often thought that red heads were an endangered group so I wanted to connect with some fellow travelers before I too became a victim of the natural process called life.

MissaKin1 - I'm of Irish decent and have the hair to proove it! Originally from New York, I decided to go to college in Massachusetts where I just recently received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Currently, I am searching for a job in New York or in Massachusetts since my family has a house there as well.

CapnK8 - I'm a Young Married in the northwestern bit of the United States, currently dividing my time between working as support staff for a university marching band and moving into our first house. I did my undergraduate work in writing and technical communication and will be starting graduate studies in Curriculum and Instruction this summer. I never know whether it is better to strive for inner peace or to release my inner firebrand, but I'm guaranteed to care too much regardless. My red hair is natural and I've never, ever hated it.

Wambler09 - I am a virgo, though I am not sure what that entails. I play the banjo and write short stories. I like to bake. I someday plan to start a secret society of redheads that live underneath the city and plant redheaded propaganda in important places. Before then I think that I would like to be a gypsy. I live in a shoe.

RedBarchetta - On my good days, I'm a multi-genre writer, a bookworm, an Orthodox Pagan, and a travel junkie. On my bad days, I'm not ashamed to be a cynical romantic, a hot-tempered southern belle, a music box collector and an unrepentant chocoholic. I have a memory that terrifies people. And scary adventures are always welcome, since they make me a better writer.

mirmirfosho - I am a junior at Oregon State University, soon to be a senior! I'll be graduating in four years, super fast, and its comin quick, so I'm a lil scared. I love college, and I'm not ready to graduate! I'm sorta crazy, really moody, and the "fiesty redhead" stereotype is oh so true about me. People who meet me love calling me "fiesty, sassy, or big time attitude" but thats ok, cause thats me, and thats why ppl love me I guess!

Brigid - I'm a freckle-faced redhead of Irish-Jewish descent who is terrified of scissors and hair products. I love vegetable gardens, dogs, accordions, and Maker's Mark (also a redhead). I don't like sunburns, cigarettes, liars, or eggplant. By night, i turn into a professional musician/ singer/ songwriter, who wields a sparkly red accordion. I also love going out to hear live original music at the many fine music venues in Louisville. My first CD will be released in June 2005. I'm told I have a "redheaded temper," but that comes from my brunette friends; what do they know anyway?

Retro_Red - Full of contrasts - sometimes very logical, methodical & conscientious, other times a spontaneous, free-spirited procrastinator; a left-brained computer geek who is also a right-brained musician & writer; a Christian & a sinner.

Generally, though, I'm pretty easy-going, laid-back, out-going & gregarious with a sense of humor as dry as the desert air I was born into (I'm an inveterate & unashamed punster).

Been happily married for over 28 years (got married on my 21st birthday - best birthday present ever & the most fun I've had unwrapping a present, too!) Have a great son (he's 22 & a redhead, too).

Sarah_Aston - I'm 5 foot 9, 175 cms tall. I used to be thin - but getting married seems to change all that! Only recently married and the wedding was the most perfect thing! My mum is part indegineous Australian, so I'm really lucky because I tan rather than burning red raw! I'm 1/8 Aboriginal, yet have bright red hair, freckles and pale skin - ah, the irony! ;-)

heidikins - I like to drink, even though I'm not legal yet (shh), and sometimes I go a little overboard. Drunk I'm annoying and obnoxious, but at least I'm fun! Sober I'm about the same.

I get obsessed semi-easily then forget a week later. I really love love love eyeliner. I also love being a readhead, even despite the paleness and freckles. I have 3 tattoos and 8 piercings at the moment, and plan on more. Other than that I guess all that you should know is that I am a little obsessed with Batman.

rabbiswife - I am the typical spunky redhead. I love kids and work at a church as a Children's minister. I will be getting married in September to the man of my dreams, with only one small shortcoming, no red hair! Sad. Oh well, it does run in his family, so I could get my 12 redheads after all. After the wedding, my location will change from Olympia, Washington USA to Jerusalem, Israel!

september18 - Passionate, exciting, moody, free, curious, smart, sexy, empathetic, loving, sultry, creative, and a singer.

PureRed - Another red to add to the mix. I enjoy being able to find some other red heads, so it was nice to come across this place. I'm currently living in Sunny Florida ( can't you tell from my tan? lol) I've lived here all my 22 years. I'm generally your very laid back, go with the flow, happy go lucky type of girl. I enjoy a good laugh and I'm a natural smart ass. I do however have the feisty attitude and temper, but only when it's required ;) other then that I'm a real sweetie.

Pooh61181 - I'm 23 I have strawberry blonde hair blue eyes. I'm easy-going, out-going, risk taker, loves trouble, easy to get along with.

Reds02 - I'm 5'8" and my weight is too much but I was married to my High School sweetheart and we had 3 children. We got divorced and I've been with my significant other, George, for 12 years now and am extremely happy. We have a house in Gilbertsville, PA and we also have a place in Delaware close to Rehoboth Beach where we go all summer long. We just got a German Sheperd puppy and her name is Morgan and she's 5 months old.

MysticalCeit - A Sagittarian in western astrology, and born in the year of the Dragon in Chinese astrology. I love adventure... travel...star-gazing... waterfalls... the ocean... thunderstorms (the air is so electric!)... flying kites - I even have a foldable one so I can take it anywhere I go... Assateague Island and the ponies... baseball (go Orioles!)... walks in the forest...and on and on and on...

Nancy62 - I am an oddity of a red-head - I am of full Sicilian descent - both sides. Both my parents have brown hair and eyes - neither of them expected to have a red-haired child, much less two. We had to trace back several generations before we found other family members with red hair. I love having red hair and green eyes (and the light skin and freckels that go with), and have the typical red hair personality - gregarious, fun loving, hot tempered etc.

orangeblossm - I am a United Methodist preacher. My passions, aside from church, include: singing, musical theater, poetry, progressive politics, activism, spending time with friends, and doting on my two magnificent cats. My favorite book is, _To Kill a Mockingbird_, followed by _Where the Red Fern Grows_, and then, _Fried Green Tomatos at the Whistle Stop Cafe_ My current favorite film is, "Saved"; such great satire!

Ruthann - I've been a redhead since birth and come by it honestly. My Mom is a redhead, and my father had red hair as a child that went dark brown once he was a teenager. While growing up my hair was the target of merciless teasing by other kids, so for a long time I thought it was a curse. Now it is one of my favorite physical features!

mom2j_and_a - Hi-I have recently changed careers, became a teacher and am enjoying having the summers off! I have two children and they keep me very busy. My sister also had red hair and when we were young, someone told our mom that the color red we had was called "Tichian Red". Has anyone else ever heard of that color? EMail me if you have. I am interested in where the unusual name originated.

clariprano - Growing up, I always felt a little different because I was a redhead. For some strange reason, this gene decided to be recessive until I came into the world. I am currently the only living redhead in my family that I know of. In school, I was asked the typical redhead questions that no one should talk about in mixed company. One strange experience was when my 4th grade teacher would kid around and tell me that he thought my hair came out of a bottle...I didn't really understand it all at the time.

Pippi_Perk - I'm currently a pharmacy student with two years to go! :) I have an undergrad degree in Marine Biology and have worked at many exciting locations in the US (NASA base in VA, and remote in Alaska) But the pay didnt support the perks, so I had to find a new profession. I LOVE to travel - and do pretty much anything outdoors. I grew up on a farm and love equestrian, fishing, and firearms ;) Weimaraners are my favorite pups, and labs come in second (the silver ghosts complement redheads amazingly!!) Shockingly, (after MANY years of denial and phases of hard rock, heavy metal, and hiphop/rap) I AM a country music fan :)

Krimsun - Hailing from London England, I've been on Earth for Thirty years (or so) and relax to Radiohead, enjoy a pint of Cider and spend my time searching for a house in the country. I also read comics (yeah I know - I should've outgrown that!) and hang around on the net setting up blogs that nobody ever reads before cancelling them and starting all over again! I'm a tad over 6ft in shoes and over my ideal weight - which is why I need to go swimming and cycling (the only activity I get!) to trim off a few pounds.

michelledawn - Born to a redhead, sister of a redhead, best friend of a redhead...I even had an Irish Setter as a kid. I embrace my color. I have spent the majority of my thirty-five years in beautiful Idaho. I married THE most amazing man seven years ago, he is very proud to be a redhead's husband. I live in the suburbs, drive a minivan, am president of my homeowners association and jam to Kravitz and Motley Crue as often as possible. You can't judge a girl by the cover...or her color.

Nifty - Me: Fun, funny, introspective, overly analytical, random, secretly a bit twisted, irreverent, kind, compassionate, occasionally defeatist, naturally sloppy but fights it, smart but not brainy, helpful, sometimes a loner, sometimes beautiful (sometimes not), sociable, hates the sun and freckles, loves orange but can't wear it, too self-conscious and self-critical, hates feeling conspicuous, loves compliments about my hair, (contrary), liberal, supports and accepts others, has a quick temper and a quicker laugh, talks a lot, gets along with almost everyone, (avoids the ones I can't get along with), a homebody.

Xayide - i'm strong willed, driven, impatient, stubborn, and very motivated. i am always surprised by the lack of confidence most humans have in their own abilities. i am drawn to motivated individuals with an eye on the future. i especially admire females that have overcome male-dominated fields.

i abhor professional sports and find them to be an enormous waste of time. i despise females whose only claim to fame is just a pretty face. it gives us all a bad name.

AnniCat - I'm a thirty something, about to be divorced writer that is stuck in the mundane world of having to work for a living. Planning on moving to California in the fall, hoping to be able to cut down to one job then, and focus on writing more. Born auburn, with copper highlights, I've darkened to deep auburn as the years have gone by. Summer brings me back to the coppery shade again, so maybe in Cali it'll be lighter year round.

Caroline - I'm 35 years old. I was born in Schweinfurt, Germany. My mother is German and my father is heinz57 with some Irish background... hence the red hair. And yes, I've got the fiery temper to prove it! I work for the dept. of health in the std services (sexually transmitted diseases) where I enter patient info. into the database all day. As you can probably guess, it helps to have a sense of humor and an open mind!

murphy - A man trying to make it throu life and be happy but still trying. I work alot and have a hard time meeting people so i hope this might help. I love to do lots from 4x4ing to waching plays and hope to find someone to share all that i am with.

Pixiecat - I was born into a huge family of redheads. My grandparents and aunts/uncles on my mothers side are all redheads (including my mother). Luckily I did not inherit the stereotypical bad-temper that most of my relatives have! I took my hair for granted as a child, but recently people have admired it. It seems that red hair has become beautiful and fashionable; just look at models like Lily Cole, Cintia Dicker, and Jessica Stam. I am so thankful to find a place like this where I can share my experiences with other redheads.

poisonivy - Growing up, being a redhead was a curse! It certainly made me a stronger person! Now, I finally appreciate it and wouldn't trade being a redhead for anything!! I always tell kids with red hair how pretty their hair is and to be proud of it!

ayame316 - For now, I'll just say I'm a student again, taking science classes so I can apply to vet school. I like anything animals, indian and asian cultures (esp japanese), healthy food, oh yeah and I was an artist at one point (degree in graphic design).

Hilary - I like to laugh a lot, I sing at the top of my lungs in the car, and sometimes I cry if it's one of 'those' songs. I love to be outside, I love the sun, and dancing is so amazing! Summer is my favorite season, even if it does lighten my hair and make it more blonde. I'm a fan of Jenna Jameson, Green Day is my favorite band, and Mortal Kombat is tons of fun on PS2 :)

rdhd1988 - I've been a redhead since birth & had all the nicknames to go with it too LOL. I used to hate having red hair, but as I grew older, now I love it & wouldn't have it any other way! Now, if I could just connect all my freckles & tan!

DeborahD - I like being one of the 4% that carry the red-haired gene! When I was younger I told people that I used a red magic marker every night when they would ask me how I kept my hair that color. Even today people want to know who dyes my hair and I am proud to say I have never colored my hair.

redhead01 - I have four siblings, three of us are redheads. I have green eyes and fair skin without too many freckles. The car I drive is a 2004 Mustang GT that has the personalized liscene plate "redhead". I am married with three sons and 2 step-daughters. I work in a Catholic church. I am of German decent, with Scottish/Irish/Dutch/Enlish mixed in. My Scottish heritage is were the red hair comes from. I'm almost 40 and have never had a gray hair in my life - thanks to being a redhead I think?

Red_H - I was born with carrot orange hair. It turned to a lovely deep auburn a la Katherine Hepburn as I got older. Now..its strawberry blonde in front and coppery in the back. I LOVE being a redhead. I'm fiery, I'm passionate (yay) and I'm original.

goldgoddess - I am an MBA student right now, missing working a little bit... I am a competitive "professional" curler and travel all over Canada every fall so that keeps me busy. I have 3 cats that are crazy but I love em'... I have a great boyfriend... finally... I love redhead lore and am mainly scottish/welsh in descent. I have a redhaired sister and a redhaired mom, and hopefully red haired daughters some day;) I am pretty cool most of the time but when I turn intense most people will tell you its scary, haha. Oh well, I pretty much am a stereotypical redhead and I believe the stereotypes are generally true. PS. We are all very exotic and lucky, don't ever dye red hair... trust me... nature has a way of punishing us for trying!

TitianCheryl - My aunt's nickname for me was "carrot top," (fellow redheads can identify). Both my sister and I are Titians (red hair, green eyes, light skin, no freckles). It was weird growing up -- kids my age thought my hair was ugly, but adults loved it. Men are always telling me about the special redhead in their life (mother, ex-wife, etc.). Happy to have my red hair now that I'm older, but wish I didn't sunburn.

kc9eow - Engineer, going back to school for paralegal degree so I can work in engineering-related lawfield. I have a 5 year old son, Sam. I am a ham radio operator, church youth director, sunday school teacher, and disaster team volunteer.

I was born with bright red hair, it turned brown while I was a kid. When I was a teen, it started turning back to red. My son was born with bright red strawbery blonde hair, but it's just blonde now. Ah, well.

Jenny_Lou - I'm a born and raised south Louisiana girl who loves life and having a good time. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and believe that laughter is the world's best medicine. I'm currently going to school at LSU and hope to finish within the next year. After that, it's on to New Orleans for my MBA and a new experience!

HutlaChura - I'm 5'1" and 115 pounds. I love horses, I horsebackride english style on a horse named Midnight. Okay enough about horses because you people probably do not want to know how tall, what breed, what exact shade of black her mane and tail are or whether she wears boots or not. Which she does... meh. Okay. I love animals. Any. except particularly ugly bugs and spiders. I have one dog at the moment, (sadly) he's 5 years old, a daschund, black and tan, 15.5 pounds. perfect in every way. (HE'S SO CUTE! hm, besides that I have one parkeet, she's like 7 years old. Her name is Bubbles. The last but not least pet I have is Peasblossom. He's our bunny. And he lives outside. We used to have sevens little chicks, (as in baby chickens) but something/someone came and took them ALL away at ONE time. :'( Okay, enough about my pets. Now what else.... Mostly in the daytime I'm reading, or doing something.... athletic I guess is the word, but it doesn't really describe me... hm... what about, athletic? Yeah, that works. Okay, at the moment I'm reading the sixth Harry Potter book! YAY! It's really good, a lot better than the fifth one. before that I read, "Must Love Dogs." That's the book that that movie Must Love Dogs with John Cusak (drools) is in. That was okay, maybe for someone who actually cared and was 45... Well, the last movie I saw in theaters was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with JOHNNY DEPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Tim Burton directing, how could it go wrong? It was a REALLY good movie. I suggest you go to see it. All right, that all? That's all for the moment. luv ya and peace pitti

Benjamin - Tall redheaded Kentucky boy. I love to travel and set myself up for crazy adventures. I'm lucky in the fact that my job allows this to happen often. I have a fun loving personality that has gotten me in trouble in the past, but more often than not, it just helps in meeting new and interesting people.

harmony - I'm a natural redhead, who is currently a natural greyhead, encountering the problem of all redheads, trying to find a color to cover the grey that is remotely close to the natural hue! Never had a problem as a kid, love having red hair, it's different from everyone else and that with my height has always made me stand out. I enjoy being one of that 5% of the population and always have! I will admit though that I've got that fabled temper, but I have to be pushed pretty far to lose it completely!

BeccaK8642 - I am currently a student at Eastern University in PA studying Political Science and Business. I'd love to go to law school, but that's still a long way off. In my free time I embrace my redneck roots and love watching nascar going on jogs, and watching MSNBC. I love dogs, but love cats even more, and I am an on and off temp at Victora's Secret. And out of my entire extended family of 40 or so, I am the only true redhead.

Viper16 - I think like most red heads, I hated it growing up. It wasn't till around 14 Y/O that it became an asset that I learned to use along with my sudden height (6'5") to my advantage :) My knick-name has stayed with me all through life since junior high football and even through the military. It's nice to be associated with an unique group of people.

redskline - I come from a family of reds--mom, both brothers, and various scattered aunts and cousins. I always HATED it growing up, but I've come to accept (possibly love?) my red hair for it's uniqueness. I will NEVER love the pale skin & freckles that go with it, however! I used to hope none of my children would get the red, but now that they haven't I'm a little sad. All 3 are blonde, with my hubby's tan skin--they certainly don't have my coloring AT ALL!!

tuttt - Typical redhead temperament: unpredictable, spontaneous, and sometimes short tempered. Definitely not one who sufers fools gladly. But patient and loyal with those I love. One who tries to see the humor in life situations. Enjoy playing in and about the water, messing about in boats, riding my bike, making fun of stupid movies, performing non-destructive but thought provoking pranks.
