redlefty - maternal grandpa had red hair. brother has red hair, sister has dark auburn. i am left-handed and red headed, a double weirdo! i think i'm very conservative, but most people see me as quirky and strange! i find all shades of red hair intoxicating! in the sun my hair looks like someone dumped orange soda on my head! my skin is deathly white, like so many redheads! by the way, i am a Phi Beta Kappa, so i may be weird, but at least it's a smart weird!

Lunar_Kiss - I guess I'm a typical redhead in that I'm very passionate and stubborn, and can have quite a temper at times. It takes a lot to get me fired up, and if I'm angry you need to stay out of my way! I'm probably one of the weirdest, most random people you will ever meet. I do my best to not be "normal", because normal seems boring. I'm a photography student and hope to do some photography within the NHL at some point in the future. I love hockey (as you may have guessed!) and watch every Penguins game without fail. I speak my mind and that tends to get me into trouble, but I never do learn to keep my mouth shut.

Red_Garnet - First off, I am a natural redhead. Although it has seemed to have darkened with age. My daughter has beautiful strawberry blonde hair. The dark auburn comes from my father and grandmother. I was the first brown eyed redhead in the family though!

I have all the attitude but I am more of an introvert, believe it or not. I enjoy a nice quiet life with my husband of 23 years and my children and grandbabies.

Coley - How odd is it that in a Scotch-Irish family, I am the O-N-L-Y one (out of 100 aunts, uncles, cousins) with red hair. HA! Sucks to be them!! (Seriously, I love them all.) I am a closet writer... in my limited free time. I operate a family business which takes up much of my time. I also made the TERRIBLE mistake of taking a PTA position this year... HA! I am an IDIOT! Never again... never again... Harper Valley PTA Hell - seriosly. The Mommy Clique is real, and it scares me.

ladygarnet - I am a vibrant, devoted wife and mother. Most people find me funny if even a little sarcastic at times. I speak my mind, perhaps a little to often. I am sentimental and extremely passionate. Yes, I loose my temper but will quickly apologize to those I see I have hurt. I act tough but can be touched by the simplest kindness. My favorite thing is meeting new people and making new friends.

Merrijig - Where people claim red heads to be firey or quick to anger, I don't think I am like that. I get on well with people from all walks of life and the only ones I don't get on with, are those that not many people in the world get on with anyway.

I am an optimist and mostly happy and cheerful so much so that "happy" is often used as my nick name. I highly value and love my family and friends and often think to myself what a very fortunate woman I am.

My dad was a red head and my older sister also has red hair. My daughter had what was described as strawberry blonde hair as a child and my son has red hair but not the same shade as I had.

Now I have a baby grand daughter with red hair the same shade as I had when I was younger. It is quite a buzz to see the genes continue.

We are a special group of folk and although some kids may get picked on in school years, most of us know that we are special and the teasers are probably only wishing they were red headed too.

ashleypaige - I cannot count the times I have been told that redheads are trouble or that we all have fiery tempers - I just agree with them and then walk away. I love being known for my hair color and that most of my personality traits are atrributed to my hair color.

pennee - my husband and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary. were at a new place in our lives both boys just moved out. and were having fun getting to know each other all over again. I miss the boys but I am enjoying this time in my life alot. we have 2, 4 year old labs one yellow and one black. I really love animals and people too. I'm around people all day in my job. I think I have the best job ever.

2gentle - A multi faceted celtic, spiritual, intellectual type of Irish gent. Genuine Irish redhead , freckles etc.... A good sense of humour and deadly wit. :) zany at times.

Canelle - I LOVE being a redhead. This was not always the case, it is difficult when "the others" call you names like Freckle Face Strawberry!!!!!! My sense of self has prevailed in spite of them.

greenfreak - I am a child of two redheads, all three siblings are redheads, and 6 out of 9 nieces and nephews are redheads. It's pretty strong in our family! I work in the IT field and balance such a technical job with photography and gardening hobbies.

rareredhead - Natural redheads make up only 2% of the US population, lefties make up 10%, so statistically that makes me extremely rare! I grew up mostly in California, but I have also lived in different parts of Idaho. I spent 5 years in TV advertising, and the past 3 years working in insurance, with recently starting modeling on the side.

Kidwyn1 - Ok, about me, huh? I'm an over 30 stay at home mom with a 9 year old spitfire of a son that never sits still. I've been married for almost 20 years to my best friend. When I was younger I was a real bright, almost orange, 'carrot top'; as I've gotten older my color seems to have 'matured' to a darker, rich auburn. I got my red hair from BOTH my grandmothers - Dad's was a strawberry blonde and Mom's was the darker auburn that I am now. I've never fiddled with the color, all the changes it's gone through were 'environmentally' caused.

Amy_Maru - I am in some ways a 'typical' Redhead, I am Smart, Sassy and tend to be a bit ...well blunt.
But the word typical turns me off.
There is nothing typical about me or any other Redhead I've ever known.

lstewart - I'm a natural redhead. My dad is a redhead and my mom used to be when she was younger, and is again thanks to the miracles of her stylist. I worked in theatre for a very long time, long enough to decide that though I love it, I like paying my bills and eating more. I'm always curious about people's fascination or prejudices with redheads. And I get very annoyed when people ask me if I'm a natural redhead, and then tell me to prove it. When I was younger I was too naive to know what they meant, so I told them of course I was... look at how light colored my eyebrows are. Ahh...the days of my youth.

dar4613 - The only red head from a family of five with both parents having jet black hair, I sure was "Special!". So growing up always felt that way... now, I know for sure at least my hair is quite special from all the compliments I receive on a given day.

This redheaded guy is in the navy stationed in San Diego right now "living the dream" as we say on the ship. Well it's more sarcasm then reality but I like it. There is romanticism in leaving and being apart from the world as you know and grew up in to travel to wonderful parts unknown. The_Irishman - Hey, my name Noah and I am 100% into my Irish heritage (which gives me my awesome red hair) and I am totally into the whole fact that I am from Las Vegas and am a cowboy at heart. Yeah I know...Irish and Cowboy...kinda weird...but it is who I am.

Well lets see...like I said before, I was Born in Las Vegas and I moved to NH when I was seven. I go to a totally awesome school here in NH. I love it so much because it has something like 40 kids in it which pretty much makes us a big family.

Nama - I've always been especially glad to be a redhead. Even when I was a little kid I knew that it was a special attribute and set me apart. Now that I'm well into my adulthood, my hair seems to be lightening up a little. I've always thought that redheads age gracefully, so am not really worried. Most people, even my hairdresser, thinks the white hairs are added highlights. lol I've also always thought that redheads are an ethnicity. Talia - I'm nineteen years old but sometimes would rather be five. I apparently behave much older than I actually am, which has led my friends to refer to me as the 'mummy' of our group (something which stems from wiping barbecue sauce off of another friend's chin). While I once hated being a 'ginger', I've come to appreciate it now and tend to find jokes about redheads quite funny, mostly because they're so awful. My main interests are reading, writing and corsetry. I mainly enjoy reading fantasy, but nothing so highbrow as Lord Of The Rings - I've read Fellowship and my brain almost exploded with the effort! I also enjoy watching films - fantasy, sci-fi, and pretty much anything else that takes my fancy. The Original Stars Wars Trilogy are my favourite films. I love Shakespeare and Byron. Visual_Eyes - They say art imitates life, which suits me well since I have an endless fascination with both. I can't help get excited about the world when there's so much beauty to see. Perhaps that's why I find myself refueling the adventurer within. Whether it's renting a helicopter to drop me in a ravine to capture that perfect Palm Springs mountainside or getting up close and personal with the gorillas in Rwanda, there is little that doesn't keep me going. I'm definitely not Adventure Girl but there's a certain joy that comes in the planning. My wanderlust has taken me all around the world and I've found nothing beats a Tahitian beach and my trusty snorkel or an afternoon in Paris soaking up this beautiful city. As an artist, I've been known to indulge in solitude but my extrovert needs to be fed often. Whether I'm dining with friends or people watching at an outdoor cafe, these are the moments that keep me excited.

Downunder - I am an outgoing American living down undah and loving it! I highly recommend at least a visit, if not residency. Get away from the US rat-race (for a while, at least). I have one little doggie; a schnauzer X scottish terrier. He is cute as a button and the light of my life. :o) I work for one of the "Big 5" banks in Sydney, in the training department. A former member when I resided in California I now live on a beautiful, remote, western outpost of Ireland called Achill Island. (We have a bridge) Singing is my main profession. Specialising in Wedding and Funeral ceremonies but also love to have fun with music and will sing anything for a fee!! For work I run a wonderful business called Music Ireland which publishes and sells Irish ballad books. I am recently married to a very dear Irish man.

Because my hair is darker than the average redhead and I tend to throw my hair in a ponytail, I've had people argue with me about my redhead status. But I am not afraid to set them straight!! Having an italian olive skinned family on my mother's side, I always felt cursed with fair skin, but it's worth the price to be able to call myself a redhead.

Theresa - I am a 37 yr. old proud to be a redhead mom of 2. My father was a redhead and now I have a son who is a redhead. My whole family is FULL of freckles. I was teased a lot as a kid but as an adult I have fully embraced my redheadedness. I want my son to love who he is too. I work part time in accounting so I can spend as much time as I can with my kids.

Red_Dragon - I was born and raised in Southern California in a family of red heads--mom, dad, brother and sister all reds. I knew at an early age that there was something special about having red hair, especially when I was the only kid in my school. I loved it, because it made me stand out and it made me special. I lived an active childhood playing all types of sports and lots of outdoor activities. My family loves to travel and go on adventures. Before I started high school I got into modeling and I'm proud to say I'm the only redhead at my agency. I stand at 5'11" and a common nickname for me is "Big Red". The things I don't like the most are fake redheads. People are finally realizing JUST how cool we are and they are trying to mimic it with hair dye. It's pretty cool to be apart of an exclusive group. 4%! I'm proud of my genes and I'm thankful that my mom married a redhead too. Someday I'll pass on the gene to my children. Though, the downside to being redheads is it's hard finding others, but thats why we join clubs like these, right? :)

Kellybeth - I'm a 21 year old college student, born and raised in NC. My entire immediate family is brunette however my maternal grandmother and paternal great-grandmother were both redheads, so I've come by it honest. I only wish I had gotten the light eye color that most redheads have instead of brown eyes, but I've learned to like them too. I'm friendly person, a member of a sorority on campus and I like set high academic goals for myself. I'll be applying to law school in the fall of '07.

Ele - It is alot easier to write about other people. I can see thier qualities or lack of, nuances, quirks, body language, auras, and facial expressions better then mine. So if I am required to look in the mirror and tell about myself, as required here, I can tell you I am a happy person, with a flair for the temper that redheads are known for. I choose carefully the moments my temper will be unleashed,so as not to scorch to often the people I love. I smile alot, and love to cause mischief. Seriousness, caution, and planning are the traits my family endures with much agony. I love handbags, and being a redhead with white skin and freckles.

cb1homang - I have worked for many years, and at the present time I think I'm retired. But, I've retired several times, so I could be working again at any point in time.

I have two great children and four grandchildren. I spend as much time as I can with my grandchildren for they are definitely the light of my life.

I've always had a good time no matter what I was doing. I'm a Sagitarius and pretty much fit the description of one. From time to time I still am a little impulsive, but I've mellowed over the years!
