Funny thing is, I'm not a redhead by DNA ... but despite the fact that my genes didn't play along, I always *felt* like I was a redhead from the bottom of my heart and also acted like one ... so I guess it was just logical that I eventually brought my looks in line with my behaviour :-)
And it *really* drives me nuts that some so-called "real" redheads annouce that they would be the only "real" redheads around (whatever that means in their opinions ...) you guys have no idea how it's like to live with the soul of a redhead, but be stuck with some bloody wrong DNA patterns for the rest of your life - it sucks!! ..... End of Speech (now, if somebody could please lend me a hand and help me off this soapbox?!)

"Well my ex boyfriend was had a "redhead fetish" that I was unaware of until we broke up.. we went out for a year and a half and I broke up w/him and that was 3 years ago...he's STILL calling..... so I hope not EVERY person that likes redheads is like that-- its kinda annoying."

"Most redheads have a sense of humor. Have a funny line but don't sound too serious when you say it. Also, don't say anything about them being attractive because they are a redhead. You can compliment their hair. Say "your hair is pretty" or something like that, but don't say "I love redheads." That cheapens the compliment and makes you sound like a close minded boob who generalizes people based on outward appearance."

"ANY stereotype dimminishes the person. Just to assume that a person is hot tempered because s/he is a redhead is as ludicrous as assuming that someone is dimwitted simply because s/he is a blonde."

"Just like anything else, red hair has its ups and downs. Positive attention is always appreciated and sweet. However, people who say, "you are pretty...for a redhead" really boil my temper. So I simply smile (ever so sweetly, mind you) and say, "you are so smart!....for a blonde". All in all, the important thing to keep in mind is we are all people, (redheads included). We all want similar things in life, so treat us (and others) as you would have them treat you. "

"My husband is a redhead, as is his twin sister. When we were at his grandfather's funeral, distant family members thought that I was his sister and vice-versa. Pretty awkward...
Also, I'm perceived to be full-blooded Irish simply because of the red hair, when in reality, I'm only 1/4 Irish. I used to have fun with a friend of mine who was 1/2 African-American, 1/2 Irish, trying to convince people that she was more Irish than I was!"
