To tell the truth, I wasn't teased at all. Every nickname I got was
either a petname from my boyfriend or thrown at me playfully. I felt real
special being the only girl with red hair at my elementry school, but never
figured out why there wasn't a red haired BOY, until i got to middle school
and there was one. Then came high school and there were about 10 redhead
kids total...i don't feel as special anymo'. :(

Natural redhead all the way. I enjoyed being different than everyone else.
One point that I have made in my life is not to be like everyone else and
being a redhead definitely helps in this way.

I hate growing up as a redhead!!!! I always felt like a freak, never being able to get a tan, and being either sunburned or freckles (I grew up on the beach...... covered up!!!) But now I love it!!!
My bf calls me a cute lil ginger.... I love having a haircolour that others spend money on.. to get the same shade.... (usually with out success).

I haven't had any
pick up lines related to my hair directly to me. But I
was in this hick town once visiting my friend. We
stopped at this gas station and all these gross old
men kept talking to me, which they don't really seem
to do in the city where I'm from. The cashier was old
too, and he was talking about how he really liked my
long red hair and how when Reba McIntire cut hers he
stopped buying her CD's. What was I supposed to say to
that? Then recently I was visiting another friend, and
we were hanging out with her boyfriend and his
friends. I guess her boyfriend asked his friend what
he thought about me, and his friend said I was hot and
that my hair just said "grr". I think what I really
don't like is when guys are attracted to my hair. I
have so much more to offer, and I do mean physically! |

Well. I'm 16 and I'm not quite finished growing up..but back in my day *haha* I wasn't really teased very much. I've always had a quick temper and a snappy attitude, so everybody's always known to leave me the hell alone. Every once in awhile I'll still get the carrot top/fire crotch remarks thrown in my face..but it's all good. :) I love each and everything about being a redhead..

All of the guys who have been interested in me
were obviously attracted to me by my hair color.
It makes me feel uncomfortable. When I was in
high school, no one really paid attention to me.
The right girls were supposed to be the ones
that fit in; brunettes and blondes who wore
the "in" clothes, etc. Being a redhead is about
being yourself and being independent. Therefore,
I wasn't everyone's object of affection. I guess
that's one of the reasons I feel odd when
someone says they're interested in me because
I'm a redhead. It's also uncomfortable because I
feel that they're only interested in me because
of it, like it's a fetish of theirs. I think
that might be why I'm wary of most guys.
Hopefully though it'll get better as I get more
used to it.
