"I was in an interview for a modeling school near the area, and this really pretty blonde woman peeks in, looks at me and in shock says "oh my, a real red head" she looked at me like I was some type of exotic gem that couldn't be found.. it was pretty cool."

"I had a friend who had a real bad thing for redheads-- ex-wife was a redhead, all the girls he'd dated were redheads, and I think that it's sad when we're only admired for our hair. Blondes probably have the same problem, but we as a "species" are far more rare. I think that men either love us to distraction or are scared of us because they can't handle us. You must be careful of the fetishists because they don't care about us as people. But when you're naturally perceptive to such lowlifes, avoidance is easy."

"I guess the most interesting/unsual things would be one time I was offered 900.00 to get my hair cut, so it could be used to make a wig. And when I was a child, long long time ago :) my parents had gone to Mexico and taken me and my sister. The Mexicans kept touching my head and my hair and talking about it. My mother was not a happy camper.. I think I was too young to care. :)"

"Even when I was a kid and was tortured like a Salem witch, I still liked my red hair. It has definitely played a part in shaping who I am. I don't know if I would be as assertive and outgoing if people had not picked on me, because of my hair. I wanted them to see past the hair and see me, so now I am sort of show-offy (is that a word). But as I've gotten older it's the hair that people notice first and makes them want to get to know me."
