I really never felt teased or unique when I was little. I guess I had it easy. I don't think I realized I was a redhead until I was 16, when I tried to tan. I do feel a bond with other redheads for some reason, my best friend is a redhead. I've never felt so close with anyone else. There is something about seeing another true redhead walk by that makes us smile and acknowlege one another; one of lifes great mysteries.

Well, when I was younger and frequented bars, guys would come up to me and ask if I was a "natural" redhead, lol. Then they would proceed on about how redheads are supposed to be really good in bed. I never heard any really weird pick up lines, just extremely ignorant comments about redheads and bedrooms. My advice to those people is, grow up and try to see that hair color has no influence on a person's sex life - or intelligence, noting the blonde jokes that circulate around. People are just so ignorant on things like hair or skin color. It's the heart that counts, that has an influence on this or that.

[People who obsess over redheads] actually make me a bit sad, because I want people to know
me for who I am, not just for my hair color. I am so much more than a
redhead. I'd like to think that my hair color is only one of my good
qualities!! Sometimes I think people who become stuck on a hair color,
weight, race, etc., don't realize how much they're missing out on meeting
other people!

I absolutely LOVE having red hair. I'd never think of dying it. In fact,
every time I go to get my hair cut, there's always at least one person
there that asks if it's my real color and the stylists usually comment that
women will pay lots of money to get their hair my color. I fell like it sets
me off as an individual, that it's part of my identity. It's almost like I
paid my dues as a kid and now I get to reap the benefits.

I'm forced to say I prove these stereotypes [about redheads]. I wish it wasn't so, but its all true. I believe there are different kinds of passions between the redheads, and much of it depends on the astrological sign of the person. I do know that I am quick to lose my temper at times, I get very defensive when it comes to the things I love or feel strongly about, and no one seems to have a problem knowing what kind of mood I'm in and how to tread because of said mood. My husband says this: "I'm married to a redhead... I know when to duck, and when to run."

I am a natural redhead- and morally opposed to any other kind- and grew up not being teased, but always noticed. No matter what, redheads are always noticed! Strangers would always stop me in the grocery store, on the street, wherever, to comment on my hair. The most frequently asked questions were, of course, "Where did she get that red hair from?" and "Is it natural?" I wasn't teased very often, thank goodness! As a little girl, I didn't like being different and all the attention I received, but I feel much differently now!
